Just a theory, but I have a feeling he bought the tabard just to have it and then noticed the achievement long after that and now feels cheated. Just a feeling though.

To be honest, grinding out the rest of the sporregar and kurenai rep for me took less number of days than grinding out the tournament tabards, so technically the tournament ones take longer. If you look at amount of eye bleeding though, then the tournament ones are super easy compared to anything else.

Bottom line - I expected the tournament tabards to count towards the achievement since they do involve a little more work than some of the other tabards I've obtained. I was rather surprised when they didn't and came to this forum to see what's up about it.

So here I am off to grind either one of the pvp tabards or the SM one to get my final one I need.

It's rather weird that they don't count towards achievement. They are tabards after all...

That's why most people are going on the assumption that it's a bug.

Again... unique has a different meaning here. Unique as not having 10 of the exact SAME. And guild tabards DO count, ONCE, hence the "unique" terminology".

Blizzard had to put "collect x amount of UNIQUE tabards" to avoind getting ppl buy lots of guild tabards. It's pretty much like Loremaster/Seeker and daily quests. Only the 1st quest counts, after that, no more counting. Same for tabards.

And if u still have doubts, check my hunter, check her ONLY tarbard and check her achivement "Represent", which happens to be the 1st tier for "25 tabards"

Guess I'll be waiting for a "future patch" to buy my tabards then.

I think it would be cool if this achievement actually showed which tabards you had, and which have been applied toward the achievement.

I can't imagine the list of tabards would be any more unwieldy (in UI terms) than the Well Read achievement is (that's a HUGE list).

There is something intuitively wrong with this achievement, since it shows a progress indicator, and nothing else. I have no idea what tabards I am missing, or even have. I've found myself flying around to quartermasters and re-purchasing tabards just to see if my progress increments. In once instance, it did, but frankly, I'm convinced there might be others I've missed.

My point being, prior to the achievement system, there were many tabards I simply never bought because they were ugly or visually uninteresting. It would be nice to see a list of tabards in-game, which you were eligible to buy, and which you've actually purchased/received.

The difference between this achievement and the Well Read achievement is that this one would be constantly changing as they add more tabards. Well Read will always be the same books. They can't keep updating the list of tabards everytime they add a new one in.

What I did when I decided to do this achievement was make myself a list. What the game doesn't provide you you can do for yourself. A simple save file in word and your problem is solved. Sure you'll have to go back once to check them all, but no more than that as you'll have it written down.

Well, remember... this is software. Usability is key. Yes, I am making a list to solve my problem. But did I really need to? This is a really basic usability issue. I work in software, in UI design, and I personally find the lack of a player assist in tracking tabards for this achievement to be unfortunate.

The answer to an issue like this should never be "what the UI doesn't provide you provide for yourself." That may be the reality that you and I face as players, but it isn't the answer a company like Blizzard, with generally solid UI design practices, should offer, and I hope they don't. Where I work, if a complaint like this came in, at no point would my option be to tell the users "Go fire up Word and make your own list." We care too much about good usability. I really hope someone at Blizzard does too.

The difference between this and Well Read is you get all the books in Well Read. There are more than 25 tabards. This is more like the pets/mounts achievements, as its a collection achievement. Get 1, 10 or 25 out of the total number of tabards in-game (presumeably another step later on).

This will probably be fixed when they figure out the tabard storage that they mentioned they were interested in adding.

As the tabards don't even require you to be exalted with the city in question, I don't think they even should count.

So you must also remove Guild Tabards and the tabards from Wyrmrest Accord, Argent Crusade, Knight of the Ebon Blade, and Kirin Tor as well, right? May as well dump the Loremaster and Explorer tabards, too, since there' s no exalted requirement for them. And the TCG tabards, too! That's just luck, points, or cash! And the Argent Dawn tabard, too, just needed some items to buy that thing during the invasion. And the Fire Festival tabards, that's just beating a boss, right? Illdari, too!

That's a lot of tabards eliminated. Not much fun, huh?

You must be a Champion of a City to get a tabard, and must have 50 seals. That's plenty of work, and a lot of players will be exalted by the time they get to that point. Maybe not DKs, but lots of other toons that quested through a lot of content on the road to 80, not to mention all the Ambassadors.

Technically yes, WoW is a waste of time. You're not curing cancer or anything, you're playing a freaking video game. The point of a video game is to waste time, and if you think otherwise, you're delusional. I'm not saying not to play it, just pointing out that by playing WoW, you're not really doing anything to help make a better society or advance the human race. You're simply wasting time. Unless, of course, you're a gold seller and making money by playing the game.
