Meh. I'm really starting to get sick of this game and the constant BS annoying changes that can ultimately get laid at the feet of the screwed up PvP balancing.

Piss poor change to a profession that did not need changing.

You're really doing a great job of pissing people off GC, and that's about all you do anymore.

Q u o t e:
In the next major content patch we will be removing the prismatic quality of the jewelcrafter-only Dragon’s Eye gems. Like other gems, they will have to match the socket color to receive a socket bonus. When this change occurs, players with qualifying jewelcrafting skill will be provided a yet to be determined amount of Dalaran Jewelecrafter Tokens as compensation.

In response to your nerfing of my profession I reported your signature to Time Warner Music for copyright infringement.

Good change.

Glad that you're bringing JC perks inline with other professions. Removing the prismatic aspect is certainly the most fair and sustainable way of accomplishing this.

Nerfs never feel good, but this one was needed.

At least I get a whole patch to enjoy the OPness.

This is a pretty ridiculous change. i just wasted a lot of time and effort to work up a trade skill for this one benefit and now it's being removed? Give me a break.

Also... anyone saying that this was 'OP' needs to work on their math a bit (or take the time to actually do it or read the dozens of comparison posts already made on this topic).

Q u o t e:

So you're saying that 39 spellpower is not better than 38 spellpower (lol it's still better than enchanting)

oh wait, now every crafting profession besides lolgineering and tailoring (inc nerf) provide the same stat buffs +-1

you're stupid

Let me get this straight, I'm stupid?

I'm guessing your reasoning behind this statement is:
1. You have no other response, and the internets is super srs to you.
2. You're just happy JC is getting nerfed for no other reason other than a commuinity of other posters are elated. (You obviously have no valid points and are just C&Ping things others have stated, better than you I might add.)
3. Because when all else fails (ie: my argument is weak, or I don't know what I'm talking about), resort to insults.

A+

You won't change my mind, I don't think this nerf is warranted. Bottom line sweetheart. BTW, I wasn't trying to change yours, just pointing out your combo of CAPS+nonsense in your original post is completely wasted here.

Pretty much agree with what's being said, this actually makes it worse than any other prof that provides a similar bonus by pigeonholing the sockets. That and release of new gems, without new dragoneyes, even worse.

That being said it's still decent, especially for early end game (which noone really cares about)

Figurines, daily quests which tie into a self sustaining jc only currency, if I was min/maxing I'd probably drop jc now for bs, but I don't really care anymore, as Blizzard is too random with the nerf bat for me to keep up.

Lets see. Enchanting = +38 spell power. JC with this change and new epic gems 32 SP - 23SP = 9 x 3 = 27. Nerf Enchanting.

Nerfs are rarely (if ever) something that returns positive feedback, but we feel this change is necessary to bring this profession more in-line with the bonuses from the other professions. The stat bonuses are meant to stand on their own, not provide extra socket bonuses or ignore meta-gem requirements.

Q u o t e:
By the time you guys release 3.2 I will hopefully have all JC recipes that the vendor sells and you will be offering Dalaran Jewelecrafter Tokens as compensation ?!? Hows that suppose to help me when I have all the recipes of the vendor by that time?

The general idea of the compensation tokens are to buy new Dragon's Eye gems since you may be wanting to move things around with this change.

Can you change blacksmiths prismatic slots as well? Seems to be in line with this change. You could make it a random color. Now that would be fun and new...

Q u o t e:

The reason is obvious! It's been said like twenty times in this thread.

Jewelcrafting provided stat bonuses above and beyond any other profession. The Dragon's Eye gems already allowed a stat bonus equivalent to other professions, but their prismatic quality allowed them to snag socket bonuses and gem for Metas without resorting to off-color gem, giving them an even bigger advantage.
that's not an advantage, how's that an advantage? putting gems in sockets that aren't everywhere in every single piece of gear is no easier than, say, enchanting rings, or tinkering gloves, or inscribing shoulders

but what else do we get other than a prismatic gem, we get very little money compared to a enchanter or blacksmith's bonuses from their 2 extra prismatic sockets one in their bracers and one in their gloves, which if they have a socket already is a rare find, nor if a lucky scribe gets a full nobles deck or 2 or maybe even three, easily and without having to farm 2 or 3 32 slot bags worth of herb's and even then they might not get a complete deck let alone a complete nobles deck. (which still is one of the best if not the best trinket in the game because of its effect) and a jewelcrafter doesn't get a great leg enchant that a tailor or leather worker gets, nor do they get cool enchants the engineer's get ( though to be honset i would never use them they are just for fun unfortunatly and i feel the pain that engineers have because of this) or a cool flying or ground mount that a tailor or engineer makes. We get three prismatic gems that can be used in any socket that doesn't fit our needs with a normal gem in it, and get the best bonus for any color and can be used to activate a meta socket which dps classes have the worst part of because they ussually are the worst colors in order to get the meta.
