I just find drinking in arena a cheap mechanic to begin with, and now arena water was included in the (great and needed) buff to normal water?

Why was this done?

Please leave arena water out of it. Just turn off the change on this specific water. Getting a sip every know and then on the old weak water was fine and took skill and planning. "Do I have time to get something out of going to drink?" Arena is now going to devolve into "run behind a pillar for a sec, drink to full mana, BOOM, HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW!" over and over.

It's silly. Managing mana regen in arena is a big aspect of competitive pvp in the first place. Managing your drinking of insanely overpowered water is not a fun mechanic in my opinion.

yeah, wasn't really expecting them to buff arena water :)

it's kind of ridiculous, especially since there are some healers better suited to getting off drinks than others.

Geez, I wonder who those "some healers" are...

There used to be an effect on Arena water that prevented it from really kicking in until about 4 sec or so. Somewhere along the line that stopped working, but our intent is to get it working again.

The buff was mostly so casters didn't have to spend so much time on regeneration in between pulls or when soloing. If we had not buffed Arena water, then mage water would have been too good, and if we had not buffed mage water, then a core mage ability would be bad. The solution is to make water work like water, but make any water less uber in Arena.

Or you could nerf replenishment, put in actual customization of regen stats we can control that is usable outside raids in a significant way and remove water from arenas all together.

Shamans cannot currently keep up with other healers using their own mana regen methods. If they added the 5 sec delay back in Shamans would drop even further in representation.

If arena water is supposed to be the same as normal water...why can't you just use normal water and save bag space?

Wait... they buffed water?? Was that in the patch notes somewhere...?

FINALLY! Hallelujah!

Edit: Wait, all I see is "Increased the health and mana restored from Northrend food and drinks." ONLY NORTHREND? What about the lower-level water? With all the upgraded items in the lower levels, Blizz really needs to buff all levels of water... Half the time as I was leveling it would take nearly two drinks to fully replenish my mana.

Holy crap - logic has no place in this game.

if the caster gets to drink to a full mana bar- thats YOUR problem. even if they cc you and run to get out of combat, you are not cc'd long enough for them to get a full mana bar.

Or different rulesets could just be put in for both. Some of my abilties and talents work completely different when moving into the arena, water can be the same way.

Really? Come on. It seems sensible that arena teams that include a mage should have improved water. It's just like any other party-wide buff.

I'll get right over there to you after you zoom all the way across the arena and I have my perma hamstring/crip poison on...

I just hope that all of these recent nerfs (boots, water, etc. are all Druid buffs) are actually preludes to fixing the fundamental problem of priest (im)mobility.

Yeah I'm sure buffing Priests for PvP is top of the priority list for Blizzard right now.
