If I'm not mistaken though, you can get the DK using Swordshattering if you change the cloak and/or chest enchant ( I dont remember off the top of my head).

Also, technically blood and unholy would have *slightly* higher parry chances than frost due to strength talents.

Hmm, 16 def to cloak and 22 defense to chest and switching to Swordshattering puts him 49 defense rating short of the cap. That'd be covered by the sigil if they're blood spec.

Ah that's right, I assumed anyone who was short of def would just use the sigil to make it up.

Commu, you may need to put a Topic Paragraph at the top, to explain the reason why did this and the method / reason for gear choices. if you need to go to a second post i will delete this one.

unless they are suffering for threat. Then they will use a threat sigil.

Probably. But SSG has 2% stam, as well as health/armor enchants. These tanks setups look clearly concerned with their EH.

I suppose we could also try "OMG who can stack the most possible avoidance?!", but I wanted a more neutral approach.

i still dont understand that, because even ej says that is bad, due to the way the duration extension works with BP and FF. You wind up clipping 3-6 seconds off your first or second disease due to the way the mechanics work. I have found i just would rather use IBF/VAMPblood/ dark death. as glyphs.

And a personal pref of mine would be to use SS over SSG so i would be using the sigil or geming/ enchanting some amount of defense, if i needed the threat sigil.

1. Highly doubt guilds would loot the blade to a tanking DK before a DPS class so thats stretching.

2. WTB 5K armor upgrade.

I find it interesting that the DK has the 2nd lowest avoidance of the bunch.

I'm aware one could sac health for avoidance. This is one of the reasons I wanted to look into this further. There are many more mechanics than health, avoidance, and armor. Threat and other mitigation (passive and active CD) also play in. I just think it's an interesting comparison.
