For those Fury warrior who can't figure out where their DPS went, (and do not want to switch to arms) something to help to counter the effects of the 3.1 patch:

First of all, you lost 2% of your DPS from the weapon mastery move. In short, your attacks are being dodged 2% more of the time now. If you don't know what the cap is, it's 6.5% I recommend switching out whatever enchant you may have placed on your gloves and bracers with expertise. This will recover 1% of the lost dodge based DPS. The other 1% will have to be reclaimed through regemming or switching to gear with it. Expertise is just as important as being hit capped for specials, so don't ignore it.

Since Titan's Grip now reduces all damage done by 10%, that means your rage generation has taken a hit: IE: You generate 10% less rage, meaning you can only use your abilities 90% of what you used to be, so your DPS will tak an additional hit in this manner as well. Considering you now have 2 points freed up from not having weapon mastery anymore, do yourself a favor and put them into Improved Berzerker Rage. Combined with Intensify Rage, you can get 20 rage every 20 seconds or on demand. This is important for leveling out your rage bar for when you run into double-miss scenarios and can't keep your rotation up. You might not have needed it before 3.1, but this is here and now, and rage has become harder to get by because of hit to white damage.

If you were cheaping out before, and getting gems that wasn't +STR, you can't get away with that anymore. With the change to Improved Berzerker Stance, attack power no longer gains benifits. It has to be all strength now. Additionally, this means you will have to re-itemize if you were using a weapon that was AP heavy as opposed to having actual STR on it, or even your armor if you were wearing leather.

There's no way to recover all the lost damage, but you can reclaim a decent chunk of it. Or continue to QQ, that might just work out in the end too.

Disclaimer: I do not claim to be a Fury expert. If you take my advice and suffer horrible DPS, I claim no responsibility. Do not administer if you are pregnant, alive, undead, alliance, horde, sober, or have a pre-existing heart condition.

I'm mostly waiting on to see what the verdict is on armor penetration. Seems to be a lot of confusion still if it's worth gemming for or not.

Geming for no, stacking with gear yes.

Geming for Str is much more important now with the new Imp zerker stance. switch to all plate armor and try to get as much Arp as u can.

I mean no offense in this in any way. Are you a pvp or pve toon Rahn? If it is PVE, are you a raider or just in a raiding guild and go along when you can? I'm just confused on some of your choices for talents. Nothing major, just a few I would classify as leveling/pvp, and not so much as raiding talents.

Something I've been wondering as my warrior gets closer to 80. When given the option, which would be better, Arm. Pen or Haste. I'm going to go with Arm. Pen, but I may be wrong. As well for certain enchants, would you suggest stacking raw stats, or go for expertise/arm. pen/haste in stead of the str/agi/crit?

I took 3/3 improved cleave because I cleave a lot when I raid. There's almost always a Ret Paladin (or a paladin with Improved Might) I never bothered with commanding shout unless I was the one tanking (I have a tenancy to forget about keeping that up) Took the 1 point in Enrage over Execute because execute normally isn't in my rotation to start with when does does light up and I figured if by some chance it actually goes off when I'm attacking something during a fight, all the better. I keep piecing howl around because it's useful, granted, it's only really for one fight, and that's kiting Gluth adds. I didn't fill out unbridled wrath because it's horrible for rage generation.

Personally I wish I could pull a point out of any one of those talents and put it into Anger Management.

Very complete response. Thanks, always nice to see reasons for talent choices other than "just didn't know what to do with it." I never thought of Gluth adds since my raids never have a dps warrior. I also usually forget about the shouts while dpsing, 2/3 minute buffs are too short, were for paladins and still are for warriors.

Piercing Howl is extremely useful for kiting Gluth adds. I only get about 20 stacks of the debuff per decimate, and I can do this without the aid of some other form of slow (IE hunter traps) I agree that the shouts are too short, I used to have 2/2 booming voice, but with the 3.1 chances I decided to switch the points into unbridled wrath to help compensate for the rage generation loss.

Thank you for your concise guide. I didn't switch to Arms. I went full force Protection, and don't see that changing any time soon. I was Fury for 70 levels, and that will be my off-spec, come hell or high water. But for now, fury is an off-spec, and I'll wade.

TBH I've seen it a lot through various classes over the years where some change happens and people either quit or reroll. The funny part of it is that those that quit/reroll typically (notice the use of typically, hinting that there are exceptions) weren't that great at said class anyway. For the most part, it's no big loss for the community of that class or the game for these (usually) scrubs to go away.

Heh yeah beware all the ragequitting re-rolling, re-speccing.

Just finished running Construct, Military, and Plague and ran 4k DPS for overall. Usually was the top or third best DPSers for various bosses. Was beaten either by a rogue or a lock. Yeah my DPS did take a hit, but still was competitive with the other DPSers.

Not sure what the enrage not stacking with death wish complaint is about. One seldom if ever sees enrage up anyways in PvE. Granted not going to waste my effort on countering so many generalizations with actual research.

I'll just go with "Brakthir is a bad warrior, QQ moar"

This post can be made to be much more succinct: "I'm bad, and really don't know what I'm doing"

Look at imp cleave. Now look more closely. Ya, its the worst talent in all of our trees, by a long shot (and there are some pretty bad ones too).

Hitting comm shout every 3 minutes is too hard for you, ya? So, you let your tank do it, and lose out on a substantial amount of survivability because you're lazy? It might not matter in Naxx, but you have to take everything you can get in uld, especially when you start doing hard modes.

Enrage is useless in pve, unless you're bad.

Piercing Howl, however, isn't a bad choice for filler. Its nice to have, but I really prefer imp execute.

Unbridled wrath is bad, putting any points in it is not a good idea.

This might be a nitpick, but you really need something with a meta slot, even if its the crafted helm.

Imp Cleave is really a waiste of 3 points. 3 points for 200ish more dmg is not worth it at all. just my 2 cents.
