That's hardly "teleporting." I can Charge, Intercept and Intervene in three GCDs, at max usage traveling 80 yards in about 4 seconds.

to that arguement, exactly how big is an arena?

Well, when am I ever going to have two unfriendly and one friendly target standing in the appropriate configuration either? It's technically possible, but it isn't very likely.

none. play a game where you can't out gear the opposing player and then pass it off as "skill".

Every class takes skill. There's a huge difference between someone who is good and someone who is bad in this game, its a fact. Once you get into the category of good players, there is certainly difference, but whether or not this matters based on class is another story.

For example, 2400 dk/pally, those people are considered "bad" when they actually aren't "bad" but yet in comparison to other people their rating they're not good but it doesn't matter because of overpowered abilities. This is where the whole "skill or no skill" thing comes into question.

Really though, anyone who says skill isn't a factor is bitter that they're not good at the game or just ignoring the fact that its there. It might not mean everything, but if two teams played eachother given the same amount gear, and same comp, the better team will come out on top in a series.

What about ret paladins during the end of season 4?

What about them? Ret paladins were never insanely overpowered in a particular season.

If you're talking about 3.0, that was not during season 4. And there was still a difference between a good and bad ret, even if it was harder to see.

Skillful Classes:

mages
shaman
druids
warriors
hunters
rogues
priests
warlocks
deathknights
paladins

They're all skillful. Certain classes have certain advantages with specs though.

A mut rogue having trouble killing an enhancement shaman for example. LOL

The thing is, you can't just say "What class takes skill". All classes take skill, but it's just once every full moon there is a class' spec that turns into werebear and devours all the other classes.

RARARARARAR I R HOLY ER RET PALADON

or even when surv hunters had explosive stun.

or when sub rogues at 70 existed.

the 60 < enhancement shaman!

so on so forth.

But for "class", i would have to say mages. Having no self healing, being frail and the only resource they have is mana for everything they use. mana mana mana. Lock out or silence a mage, and it's pretty much game!

It takes skill if it's my class. The guy I am playing against on the other hand is a faceroller. Now when I am facerolling, that's my skill you're seeing. :)

Seriously, though one of the more interesting angles on this debate IMO, is which classes or specs take the least skill to be decent at. I believe every spec requires a lot of skill at the very upper levels of PvE or PvP play (I mean, if you're a hard-mode attempting guild or a potential gladiator). However, some specs can do decent (or better!) even in the hands of a virtual novice.

P.S. This is GC. I have no idea who "Adernaanan" is.

the classes that have next to no representation in arena

those few people that are able to take a

boomkin
shadow priest
enh shaman
ele shaman

in 2v2 to 2400

i think s5 had 2 boomkin

but its not skill thats needed, we know that only bad players play these classes thus the low population in arena

am i rite?

Okay, I'll take a stab at it... this is for PVP right?

Things that make a class harder to play :

1) Large number of active skills

2) Low numbers of passive skills

3) Low natural defense, or defenses requiring active skill use

4) Reliant on cast times

5) Reliant on a finite resource, requires judicious resource management

6) Overly specialized / Cannot deal with some classes or situations

7) Low mobility

From these criterion, I would guess that an Elemental spec shaman would be one of the harder classes to do well with in PVP.

I would also say that a Retribution spec paladin would be one of the easier classes to do well with in PVP.

Annelids have feet called setae. I'm not entirely sure what phylum a Jormungar is but they have little bristley bits that are probably similar in morphology. Whew. Dodged that one. - GC

Obviously, it's your deathknight that's just too OP to be contained. :)

Also, the forums like to randomly switch to different characters on people's accounts. You might want to double check your login screen & make sure you have the right character selected (some of the "green" MVPs were complaining about the issue on the customer service forum when Bnet accounts were first released).

I regret to inform you that I have begun levelling a Death Knight with the name Adernaanan on a server where it is commonly rumored many Blizzard employees reside.

I will ensure said Death Knight gears and gems for spellpower and haste.

Good day, sir.

They wouldn't be dumb enough to actually have developers post from their actual Live player accounts...

come on sure it takes some "skill" or judgment to know when to use which features but skill in an RPG I dont know about that.

there are people who play more, take it more seriously and sure some people will just be better at (maybe from the playing more) the game all things being equal. but clicking a keyboard and moving a mouse to a cartoon game with 100's of MS lag should not require skill.

for example I play 4 80's all almost equal time I have decent naxx gear with all of them some heal some DPS I will most likely not be as good as my friend who has played wow 4 years and has 1 lvl 80. half the time I spend remembering which keys I have bound to the toon I am currently playing. I am also casual I play a few hours 4 ish nights a week to relax after work and the kids go to bed. some people play a touch more : )

True that! It describes most dps casters.
