0. Sexymap and the Quest Tracker - Detailed Fix 04/20/2009 10:00:58 AM PDT
I use Sexymap. I love Sexymap. It's just...well...sexy.
That being said, I have had some issues with Quest Tracking since the patch. I have my minimap on the bottom of my screen.
By default, it's attached to the bottom of the map, effectively putting it off the screen and giving that error we have
been experiencing related to "Your tracking log is full....". The truth of the matter is it wasn't full, just off the screen.
This is due to Blizzard adding some nice enhancements to the default UI in regards
to tracking, i.e., it's own window.
I've researched and here is the fix to get things back to normal. I did not discover these myself, this process is a conglomeration
of several posts that have resulted in a fix to this error message and the ability to once again track quests while using
sexymap.
1. Unlock sexymap and move it to the center of your screen temporarily.
2. Open your quest screen (default is "L") and shift click a quest that can be tracked.
2a. If the quest popped up, go to 3
2b. If the quest did not pop up, make the following macro and execute it:

I still find that having an option to adjust the size of the text and icon would have been more useful. Blizz takes a fairly nice feature then bloats the size of it to make it less desirable. I'll stick with questsfu/ ihml for the time being.

Is the vehicle window similar? I found since I installed Sexymap and moved the map to the bottom, I can't see my vehicle or objectives (% capped on a tower, for example) frames.
NM: more testing and yes, the % capped and vehicle frames appear tied to the bottom of the map. So ya, unless Sexymap adds in movers for those, putting Sexymap on the bottom of the screen could be a big problem.

Q u o t e: Thank you so much. ;_____;
I almost had to choose between functional quest tracking and shiny UI mods.
(PS. Shiny UI mods always win)
Agreed. I honestly spent 30 mins doing all the standard disable/enable/clear WTF/ etc... except not really clearing the WTF.... cause I have so many custom settings I can't bear the thought of redoing my whole UI. I love you <3
BTW, for me, the macro was all that was neccessary to fix it... moving the minimap had never fixed it before, so logging in, leaving my minimap at the bottom of my screen, and running the macro made it pop up :-D

I'll see if I can get the various movers fixed up. I confess I don't use them that much, so SexyMap has suffered from an "out of sight, out of mind" problem here. :)
