0. HEY CRABMAN! About that equpiment manager... 04/14/2009 01:24:17 AM PDT
Still in the notes? Still in the last iteration of the PTR? Did it get fixt, or is it oversight that it's still in the notes? Kinda hoping it got fixt... I want to run another freeking addon about as much as I want another hole in the head...

I am sure it is still out. Patch notes are almost always not fully correct even on patch days. On a patch this size tracking all the changes is probably a headache and that was just overlooked.

We had a last-minute show-stopper. It had trouble handling some situations with unique equip items. Rather than delaying the whole patch we thought we'd just delay Equipment Manager with plans (but not promises) to patch it in very quickly after 3.1 goes live.
The good news is that as part of the fix we got an extra little bit of functionality. Now if your bags are completely full and you try to swap say one helmet for another, the tool is smart enough to know that the first helmet can go in the spot where the second helmet was.
We apologize for the delay. Equipment Manager would definitely have been a nice thing to have at the same time as dual-specs. Soon (tm).

SWEET
Since this might be a first, can you make mounts that trolls ride a little bigger or suggest it to the team? its kind of awkward...

Holy bejeezus I got a blue reply. I don't think I've ever got a blue reply. I feel super deluxe special.
Nice bit about the functionality correction. Hate it when the UI can't figure out it can put things where stuff just was--like when you disenchant an item and it isn't clever enough to stick the mats in the slot that the thingy you just destroyed was in.... maybe you could be so kind as to add this new-fangled piece of smartness from the Equipment Manager to the base UI as well? :)
Either way, thx for the reply, commenting it over on WI, much appreciated.

Is there any chance we'll ever get extra storage space for our gear with the new equipment manager?

Probably not, they've said before about bags that they can't make bags too big and I vaguely recall hearing something about server space being the reason why they don't want to make 'bag inflation' a problem.

So whose bright idea was it NOT to include any anti-aircraft defenses?!

I'd gladly give up a couple bag slots from the bank if I could use them to store gear I could access from anywhere. I just hate having it clutter up my bags and would much rather use that space for things like scrolls and different types of food.

So would I, but I long since got used to having no room in my bags from carrying around all my gear. :<
Back in the day I carried my trash tank set, my boss tank set, my block value set for Hyjal, and my Holy set around all the time, with nature/frost/fire/shadow resist sets in the bank. :(

Oooooooooooooh that would be nice... an extra special bag slot in your bank that's just barely big enough to hold a complete set of gear, no more no less, so you can have your secondary set for your secondary spec be just as easy to pop in and out of as the talents!
We'll see. History dictates Blizzard delaying something (i.e. itsy bitsy lock changes in 3.0.8 and 3.0.9 and the big stufff delayed til now) is usually better for everyone... hate to say it but GC & Co tend to do "non-Blizzard-quality" (to try and be nice about it) work when rushed.

I work for a software company... nothing more annoying than a "last-minute show-stopper". Makes you want to start cursing, throwing things at the PC...
Thanks for all your work, glad you're delivering a quality product!

I am disappointed that the equipment manager will be nothing more than a weak version of the addons that we can already use such as itemrack, outfitter and closetgnome. I was under the impression that the official EQmanager would take the items out of our bags completely.
Also there seemed to be other issues such as not being able to exclude items from a set which means I would have to update my fishing set every time I got a new item.
