Will the Enh & Ret changes be implemented before/with/after Season3 is introduced?

Please say before/with, I've been waiting since before Arena Season 1 for changes to become what people would call "viable in pvp."

It is imperative that the "off-specs" for hybrids become viable in every sense of the word. A class is not hybrid if you have to change the playstyle entirely between pvp and pve. No one should accept the explanation that enh=pve ele=pvp and it is infuriating that this belief is all too common.

With the implementation of Season 3 and possibly some love for Hunters & Rogues, Ret and Enhance can't feel anything but 100% neglected. We've asked for reasonable changes to balance our specs for months on end and yet we're still in the exact same boat.

With the sheer amount of suggestions that come from the Shaman community on a daily basis, it's almost inexcusable that nothing has been done yet, and to not have the changes in place for the next "pvp season" is just ridiculous.

You realize that every single class in the game has non-viable trees for PvP, right?

There really aren't hybrids in wow, there are classes whose spec refines their role (dps classes), and there are classes who chose their role with their spec (everyone else).

As such, most classes have specific PvE and specific PvP trees. Changing that would be major surgery, earliest you could hope for that to happen would be with the next expansion, but that's still highly unlikely.

As the will to raid fades, one more bitter old player is drawn to the forums for some inexplicable reason. What draws us to this trash hole of jealous, selfish, and whining posts crying about others?

Yes, but players roll hybrid classes specifically for the promise of variable playstyles. When that promise isn't met, they aren't able to play the class they expected to be able to.

Mages:
Fire == PVE. Spell damage spec
Frost == PVP. Spell damage spec

Shaman:
Enhance == PVE. Melee damage spec.
Ele == PVP. Spell damage spec.

You can't compare "pure classes" to hybrids in this aspect, the change from PVE to PVP spec for a mage doesn't change his source of damage or his character's playstyle whereas the change from enh to ele requires entirely different gear, entirely different playstyle.

because + fire damage and + frost damage are so usefull when switching specs right?

mages were told they would be the kings of ranged DPS, so in your theory we should go back to the old days pre BC when they actually were the kings of ranged DPS.

Single school spell damage gear is not prevalent enough to prevent you from switching schools, especially compared to changing from my AP and melee crit set to my spell damage set. Also, mage sets are not focused one one spec over another.

Another point is that while fire isnt optimal at pvp and frost isnt optimal at pve both specs have way more viability in pve and pvp than an enhancement shaman in pvp or an elemental shaman in pve.

Don't turn this into another mage QQ thread, that has nothing to do with this argument.

The changes go in with 2.3, that much is known. I don't think they've set when S3 comes in though, I'd think it'd come in 2.3 or 2.4.

I think you're probably correct Soth, but I'd really like to see some more concrete info than speculate further.

We can't answer this as of yet. Ret and Enhance changes are coming as you stated, but we can't say if it's coming at the same time as S3 yet or not. First we need to get patch 2.2.0 into live and then we need to get the next patch onto the test realms. We do plan to give people notice ahead of time on when we hope to initiate Season 3, however. We don't plan to give any advance previews of things either, but everyone will be able to check things out on the test realm when it all hits.

What we focus on, we empower and enlarge. Good multiplies when focused upon. Negativity multiplies when focused upon. The choice is ours: Which do we want more of?- Julia Cameron

Gee, really? Name one totally non PvP spec for Locks, Rogues (subtlety works for PvP) hunter (survival works for PvP) mage (yeah, 3 minute PoM mages totally suck in PvP) and other classes.

I can name these specs:

Prot Paladin
Prot Warrior
Ret Paladin
Enh Shammy

Holy and Disc priests can heal just fine in PvP.
Boomkin are about the same as Ele Shaman.

Try again chief nuts-in-mouth.

Thank you, drive through

skinning an ally should aggro every other allys in a 40 yard range,
it makes sense.
