The changes that are in the latest version of the patch notes are what we currently have planned for engineering in patch 3.1.

The perks for engineering are different compared to other professions but engineering has always been a bit unique with their toys and whatnot. We feel the perks work out compared to what other classes have for the time being and have no changes planned at this time.

The mote extractor was put in to help get money through the profession which works pretty well.

I agree that <Engineering> isn't great for raiding, but I've found it to be very useful for PvP. Plus I only rolled it for the toys to begin with, and it's remained entertaining imo. I think it'd be great if we could make some things similar to what's in the Dalaran toy store in fact. Totally useless for raid utility, but fun.

As for <Draenei Engineering>, would that be like Gnomish and Goblin, except that instead of a chance to fail it could have a chance to work?

Well while I think simple mathematics disagrees with that assessment. I do appreciate you letting us know in advance of the patch. I was an engineer since open beta, I'll be a little bummed out tonight when I drop it.

If engineering is supposed to be about the toys only, how about you let me switch specializations to make the only toy I'm interested in? Gnomish engineers are the only ones who can make the xray specs, and I sadly chose to be goblin ~3 years ago, being in my shortsightedness I didn't realize what the gnome-only schematics would be 2 expansions down the line, silly me.

The fact that alchemists and blacksmiths can switch specs just by doing a quick quest or spending some gold, while I have to RELEVEL THE ENTIRE PROFESSION FROM SCRATCH is Very. Aggravating.

You can't normalize all the professions and then leave one as a "unique snowflake"

This is the facts: Engineering provides better pvp bonuses. They don't provide as well bonuses for pve. You can not have ONE profession be THE pvp profession. It doesn't work design wise.

Engineers who do almost exclusively pve want pve bonuses on par with the other professions.
Non engineers don't want to be forced into engineering for pvp things.

Give engineering it's pve bonuses and make the pvp enchants accessible to everyone.

And stop with this awful design approach, because it doesn't work, and you're just setting yourselves up for another three months of crying.

I'm sorry if this sounds bitter but I really hate being told you guys are seriously chugging along with a plan that a lot of people are obviously dissatisfied with, and quite frankly doesn't make any sense to begin with.

No reagents for scrapbot.
No new goggles.
No clear superiority in our bop bonuses versus standard enchants.(tinkers).
No new reputation patterns.
No new/upgraded gadgets (MC hat, netomatic, world enlarger).
No fix for specialty switching.
No real difference between specialties at 80.
No new teleporter.
No new flares. (easily most important of all)
No disorient on grenades.
No new seaforium.
No engineer assistance on motorcycle.
No use for Indestructible Frame or Neo-Dynamic Gear Assembly.
No new pet/mechanical dragonling.
No connection to siege vehicles (repair or bonus damage).
No point.

Now that we have confirmed blue post about engineering in 3.1 its time to /drop fellow engineers.

Kinda like the mp5 on holy pally gear and crit on resto druid gear? Doesn't make any sense either.

They need to rehire the old designer froms Prebc/Bc. Engi in BC was decent, now, after reading this, I ask whats the point?

Should I just drop engineering since it's going to be worthless pretty much after the first content patch of an expansion?

Most of the perks that should be for engineering end up in the card game available to everyone. Thanks for confirming that short of making a motorcycle, there is no reason to keep this trade skill.
