It doesn't look like there's active blue posters in the tournament forum, I thought I'd look for clarification here.

The Tournament rules state:
All Arena Team members must be Eligible Participants and must separately enter in order to participate. Competition in the Tournament shall take place in the Arena Battlegrounds in World of Warcraft, and in accordance with the World of Warcraft Terms of Use and Arena Battleground rules.

And
“Cheating,” as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion, and specifically including, without limitation, “win-trading,” shall result in disqualification of the Arena Team and all of its Team Members.

The regular arena page doesn't spell out what Cheating and win trading are.

My concern is the teams that are going for the murloc (I'm on one of them). My team has actually played all of our games, but in the course of the games I've seen the following: Some of the teams are entering the arena and are /afk'ing out (not many, thankfully). Some of the teams are going in with no gear on so as to lose as fast as possible.

Does this count as cheating or win trading? Meaning, will the teams doing this be disqualified from the pet and if they are disqualified, will I have to play more games to make up for their disqualified games?

In my experience Blizzard has a top notch investigation team that will fully vet any wrongdoings. If you are in fact innocent then you shouldn't worry about a thing. Blizzard knows who is cheating and who isn't.

We'll definitely look into these players' actions; however, this should not impact the number of games you must play to receive a murloc. To reiterate, I do not believe you will need to play more games if the player's you faced were disqualified. Should any additional information become available, we'll do our best to keep you updated.

Good luck! :)

Cool, thank you for the response.

Could I trouble you for a followup, since this isn't spelled out in the rules either:
do the naked teams still qualify for the murloc?

there's a lot of folks who paid expecting to get a pet for just entering the arena 200 times

If they don't, there's going to be a lot of angry peeps if they find out later before they can correct it by playing 200 games normally.

I'll be happy to inquire on your behalf; however, I am unable to guarantee a response, Rovina. I, personally, recommend that all players put forth an effort to compete in the spirit of the tournament.

Thank you again.

My team is playing (badly) and is currently 43 and 57.

I was just asking more for the pet community in general. If we can get the answer out there, then teams that have already finished their 200 games will know that those 200 won't count and they have plenty of time to re-play, rather than finding out in 4 weeks when the pets are sent and they don't get one.

Even though you didn't have a definite answer, this post did have an effect (at least I think so).
Either the folks that were doing that have completed, or people are actually trying somewhat in the spirit of the game. I've seen far fewer naked teams in my matches, and only a couple of /AFK teams. So

Though it would still be nice to know for sure if the /afk or naked peeps will still get their pets, since they may want/need to replay their games...

I have had 3 diff arena teams w/ 100 plus games fall apart. Will I still get the pet or does it have to be 200 games with 1 team? It seems so unfair I have to depend on others and keep getting totally shafted. The time I put in to get the pet is starting to feel like a punishment. I have 131 on the current last bout and a guy quit. Now I'd have to start over again if it is with 1 team. Please tell me all the games count and it isn't just with 1 team?

Some confirmation on this would be great. Alot of people are inquiring and it is met with nothing. I really don't want to get screwed over because the other team is leaving the arena before the match begins. We paid $25 for this, so a definite answer would be nice.

You paid $25 to take part in a Tournament.

You need to have 200 wins on an active team.

Well let me clarify my question. Some of these games where my team had encountered other teams who left the match early, counted as a "game played" but resulted in no rating change, and some of them counted as a "game played" but we got a rating change (both times never even laying eyes on the other team. We want to make SURE that those games vs those teams who abandon and also the games played against people who are naked and obviously don't give a crap are counting as actual games.

We have 200+ games played now same team same char, I am not the only person looking for answers to this, there are questions all over the Arena forum going unanswered. And, will teams who abandon or play naked get penalized in some way?

Has anything been determined about the matches where the other team quit? My team has completed just over 200 matches. There were times when the other team quit right as the match started, before the match even started, or when one of the players on the team would quit. I did not keep count of how often this happened. Maybe 10 or 15 matches? I don't want these teams to prevent me from have completed 200 matches.
