Dang,

I was really looking forward to that little guy pumping out both healing and mana.

I'd think that the most likely result for the mana totem would be becoming raidwide and then not stacking with BoW. Because it's a) totally stackable b) party wide and c) not provided by any other class, and BoW is also given by just one class.

But who knows. Heck, maybe they'll give it replenishment just to be oh so sure that every single raid ever made has it.

Ok, so is this change to mana spring going to allow us to drop healing stream or is it going to still be a useless totem? That was what I was most excited about; actually being able to have my passive HoT out. Mana spring is already good no matter what (knock on wood).

It came to me in a dream

Shaman already have weapon imbues and elemental shields. Both given by the spirits of the elements to help the shaman along the way down the road of adventure.

Suppose many of the things now cluttering up totems (and perhaps some other shaman abilities) became something akin to those two.

Here is the though. "Armor Activation: X" would be the base idea. Each could have a separate shared internal cooldown like trinkets, and individual cooldowns to go along with it.

Some of these I would love to see...

Armor Activation: Gauntlets of Fire - This would replace the fire elemental totem and grand a % of fire damage to all other damage done by the shaman for a period of time. The offset of this would be that the shaman can now leave down a totem that is of the fire element. I would love to see the talent Shamanistic Rage make this ability return mana, to remove some of the buttons that need to be pushed at times. Just cleanup for cleanups sake really.

Armor Activation: Cloak of the World - This would replace the Earth Elemental totem and grant the shaman both a massive increase to threat output while giving them some greater form of mitigation. In my mind this would also remove the mitigation granted by Shamanistic Rage, but I would suppose that would entail much work on Blizzards part.

Armor Activation: Treads of the Tide - Effectively removing mana tide totem, but keeping the effect the same. I picture this putting the shaman on a wave that they ride around while the effect is active.

Armor Activation: Spaulders of the Elements - Replacing Elemental Mastery.

The common idea here is that there is an area that new abilities can be placed in that are not totems, weapon imbues or shocks, typically being fairly long cooldowns and getting rid of summons. I've always felt the ability of the shaman to be able to summon an elemental seemed odd since they get their abilities from the greater elementals.

I just don't get what the overall plan is for Shamans. So far, it seems to be: Under no circumstances bring more than one Shaman to a raid, and he better be resto.

Utility buff? I'm sure that's the bloodlust/sated change.

Give me a reason why I shouldn't scrap my non-resto Shaman... again. Please.

You're killing us GC. The totem thing has been at the top of Shaman's lists for 4 years now... any big changes to the system are going to be earth shattering and we all want to know!

I'm not the next of them, I am the first of me.
Death Knight: Because a caster/melee hybrid with CC would be overpowered if it was Shaman.

wait wait wait

mana spring is awesome
healing stream is sh!t

I was under the impression you were going to merge them because nobody ever used healing stream, but instead you're keeping them separate and making mana spring more fancy? Wouldn't it be better to work on making healing stream desirable?

Nobody expects the stunlock shaman

Let me guess, the mana totem will turn into replenishment, which will be a nerf to shaman's mana regen

Mana Spring totem will now also cause 100% of the casters health to any enemy targets within 50 yards, per pulse.

Renamed to "Spring of 1000 Tears"

BUT it will be balanced, because it will cost 2x as much mana now, and have a 60 second cooldown.

A duration increase will not help the problem shamans are having with the totem.
