0. Dual Spec level reduced to 40!!!!! 24/02/2009 13:18:35 PST
"Dual specialization isn't something everyone needs. It's a perk we're adding into the game, and it's initially going to require an investment. If you can't afford dual specializations for 10 different characters, you might not actually need all 10 of your characters to be able to swap between two specializations on a whim.
With a single 5-second, out of combat cast, players level 40 or higher will instantly be able to swap between two different talent specializations, glyph sets, and action bar set-ups from virtually anywhere in the world.
That kind of convenience and versatility shouldn't be obtained with absolute triviality."

Is that a typo or did it actually get lowered to 40?????

Why Johnny Ringo....you look like somebody just walked over your grave.
I have:
80 Hunter - Dual spec is pointless
80 DK (DPS) - Don't plan on changing
70 War (Prot) - Don't plan on changing
42 Druid (DPS/Heals) - /HAPPY DANCE!!
1000g is crazy for a level 43 priest who wants to heal the occasional dungeon on the way to 80.
Honestly, what's the point in the 1000g fee again? I've spent tens of thousands of gold in this game, so it's not like I haven't made gold in the past, I just don't see the need for a fee for duel specs.
Hush!!!
Pay it!!!! ...just.....PAY IT!!!!!
All my alts are rejoicing right now...don't make them decide to pull this feature!!!
(yeah..I wish it was like 500g or something lower...but /shhhh....don't kick the big sleeping dog..just grab the ball and run!!!)

So if someone purchases the Dual Spec at 40, each time they level will they be able to just add a talent point into each Spec or will they have to redo it every level?
Very nice though with a cost of 1000g I won't be using it on many of my alts. I think level 40 sounds like a fair number. Most first-time 40s won't have the gold but then they probably won't have the knowledge about the class to really use two specs. By the time you've leveled up one or two characters to the cap, you have a better idea about the game and a decent idea of how other classes work (hopefully) so by level 40 you may have a couple of different goals in mind for that alt and the money to invest in the dual spec option for that alt.
It's not an optical illusion. It just looks like one.

I have:
80 Hunter: I will pay for it so that I can switch between a PvE and PvP spec any/every single time I want.
80 DK: I will pay for it so I can switch between tanking spec/dps any/every single time I want
80 Priest: I will pay for it so I can switch between healing/dps on the fly.
73 Rogue: Will probably get it so I can switch between PvP and PvE
70 Druid: See Priest
70 mage: See Rogue, plus farming as frost for the win!!
Not everyone has the same plan as you...

However, are you planning to offset the cost a bit to accomodate a level 40 budget? I have 6 toons level 40 and up, and I would gladly send them each 1000g so they can use this feature if I had to. But it does sound a bit steep for a level 40. 500g would even be fair. Although, if it were made to be 100g... That would seriously rock!!!
