You can get emblems of Valor at a decent rate just pugging Sarth and Archavon each week. In fact, it would take less time invested to accumulate Valor badges than it would to farm enough heroic badges to trade at 10:1.

Thats a poor analogy as both are used to purchase exclusive sets of gear. Personally I am in favor of the idea with a higher requirement, say 15 badges. The reason more being to give tanks/healers more reason to play through heroics with guildies, less geared persons without it being a complete waste while not allowing lowbies quick access to 25 man gear. For example, using 15, one would have to run on average 3-4 heroics+weekly raids to average about 1 a day. At that rate, it would take 3 weeks or so before one could get 25 man gear, and thats with a pretty hefty time commitment.

That is a horrible comparison. And completely off the point.
Blizzard introduces badges.
Badges from kara/heroics buys SWP quality gear.
People complain.
Blizzard invents a multi token system preventing this from happening again
Therefor heroism buying valor (which is exactly the same as just flat out buying the best gear with heroism at any ratio) defeats the point they were trying to make with the new system.

I would like to see BoA badges....But I see some problems there as well, (ie....one toon being able to get ALOT of badges per week if you run the content multiple times on each toon)
Just a lil annoying that you run what toon your guild needs depending on the week/night so you end up with badges split between them....
