In a locked thread, Bornakk, you said

Q u o t e:
I completed all of the Love Fool achievements, it was close and took about 50 tries, but I completed it. Some people here did, some didn't.

Thanks for this. The next question I wanted to ask though is: Did you all have fun completing it? Do you think that based on "how close it was" that the achievement is in fact working as intended?

And, I know you said previously, that you all are looking into the achievement and that a fix may be impletented (though it may be in the future). Any further news you can give us on this?

Look at my signature it contains important information on OPTIONAL content.

This achievement is working as intended at this time.
Some achievements are harder than others. Currently we are okay with some requiring that you be max level among other additional challenges.

I'm more curious as to how many gifts blue had to open.

Did they lose sleep, ignore their family members, etc. so they could get more chances for the stupid bag of candies to drop?

If not, then it's just another smarmy lucky person who finds it funny that so many of us are frustrated over this achievement.

If you lost sleep trying to get this achievement, you need to take a break and leave the house for a few weeks.

Thanks, Blizzard. You guys can suck the fun out of a clown.

I didn't lose any sleep. I got it though.

I didn't get the sinister squashling during the Hallow's End event but OH WELL. I'll LIVE. Always next year. FYI I am talking about my rogue, as my DK wasn't around at Hallow's End.

You will live too, I promise

Q u o t e:

Or it could be that you put your priorities of an achievement in a video game over sleep and family members, and argue that had it not been so RNG based, you would not have "HAD" to do this.

You people really need to get your priorities straight. Would your neglect have been justified had you have gotten the achievement? If you say yes, then I pity you.

Not really trying to flame, but it really sickens me that people put this game before everything else, then have the audacity to whine about how it affects your real life.

I don't find it funny that you didn't complete it. Sure, it sucks. I find it sad that your life is seemingly ruined because of not getting a video game achievement.

No one has said their life is ruined. I think you're stretching things just a tad. But for an event that lasts only 5 days, many people felt the pressure due to so few opportunities to get the items they needed to complete this achievement.

Not everyone in the world is a centered, grounded, perfect human being. Many of us have flaws. Mine being that I'm OCD. Give me a list and I'll obsess over making sure that everything on that list is checked off.

Unfortunately, this time around they put in an item that I had absolutely no control over. None. I look at achievement and the associated titles and rewards as something put in to reward someone's time and effort. From Blizzard's reaction so far, they don't agree with that assessment. I find that disheartening. That is what I'm upset about. That is my problem with this whole issue. Blizzard's attitude.

I didn't lose sleep getting it, but it was really annoying to set my phone every hour to come log in for 30 seconds to check for a bag.

I'm sorry, you must have missed the point of my thread. Where do I say I won't live? And I don't see you proclaiming this was a fun event--which was the main point of my thread.

Actually I had fun. Especially since I got it...

I had fun with Hallow's End, even though I didn't get it..

Got it?

I'm not Bornakk, but I had tons of fun. Me and the GF ran around the world picking up card and booze and bread, so I could get the firecracker achievement, and the arrow one.

I even voted for Bolvar Fordragon exclusively in the contest because he is the alliance's lost hero!

You know what I would support in the name of fun? Letting people get credit for HAVING the candies, not soley creating them, so they are trading the V day candies around! Then make the drop rate on the bag abyssmally low or something.

I still have candies that my GF gave/made me from last year (or the year before, I don't remember!) in my bank!

She got the Perma Peddle this year, I didn't =( Better luck next time I guess.

it only wasn't fun if you had to grind adorations for the title - this means you wanting an achievement made it unfun not blizzard - i didn't find having to make multiple trips back to the cities for adorations was fun, but i wanted the title so i dealt with it! - paid off in the end

Q u o t e:
Hallow'd End lasted for about a month.
I almost didn't get mine, too, but by the last few days I had accepted my fate.
I ran it most days, but definitely missed quite a few potential headless horseman runs.
It is not on the same level of difficulty as Be Mine! was this year.

Hallow's End is 14 days long

That's 336 hourly chance to get the Squashling + 70 chances to get it from the Horsemen.

Love is in the Air was 5 days long

That's 120 hourly chances to get a bag of candy or two.

Hallow's End had more chances but also more things required from the one hour buffed portion. Although, the masks were eventually taken out they still factored into your loot probability since there were more things that could be gotten from the treat bag (specifically 35 unique items). Where as the gifts only contained 11 possible items. All those chances and you barely got it. While I had the same chances and never did. Reverse is true of the Love event.

They are the same level of "difficulty" as you call it.

You've said this now twice. You don't see me trolling against those trying to get rid of this achievement do you? No. Because I realize its not an achievement that rewards skill. I got lucky I spent my gold tickets on this thing. Do I feel special for it? No. And I could care less if Blizzard got rid of this achievement.

BotM and Love Fool are not one in the same. Come October, you can work hard to get the gold tickets and be GUARANTEED you'll get this achievement. Come February, I can stay up (AGAIN) for almost five nights straight, get all the gifts of adoration, and STILL be missing the last candy I need. I have no control over this achievement. You can control whether you join the club.

So stop making this comparison.
