0. GC, about diseaseless dk specs 02/11/2009 01:03:09 PM PST
So right now people are rolling blood for a diseaseless rotation. I dont care what dps this build and rotation can pull, its broken. What if a ret paladin could ignore crusader strike and do more dps? What is fury warriors could take whirlwind off their bars and do more dps?
People who are speccing this seem very desperate to wanna play blood. The fact they WANT to play blood is a good thing. The fact they are willing to play blood and not be able to use all their buttons is just desperate.
Have their been any talks or even any acknowledgement from the developers about fixing this issue? I cant see how the devs want DK's to ignore 2 core abilities.
We're okay with ignoring diseases on very easy targets but you should never feel like you can build a valid spec or rotation around ignoring Icy Touch or Plague Strike. Some of the 3.1 changes should support this a bit more.

Hopefully you're achieving this by making Plague Strike actually fun/interesting to use in PvE, rather than a dreadful bore that you only put up because you're forced to for the sake of your other abilities.
I'm also disappointed that some of the highest dps specs you can play as a DK right now don't use any diseases. It's fun to stack diseases and "combo" off them. It has been ever since beta. It also helps limit the amount of damage per global cooldown a DK can do.

If anything, doesn't removing the damage from pestilence and giving BB a diseaseless damage component promote diseaseless blood and PSless frost even more?

So right now people are rolling fury for a battle stance/overpowerless rotation. I don't care what dps this build and rotation can pull, its broken. What if a ret paladin could ignore crusader strike and do more dps?
People who are speccing this seem very desperate to wanna get away from the unintuitive design of battle stance/arms. The fact they WANT to play fury is a good thing. The fact they are willing to play fury just because arms is so clunky is just desperate.

I hate the disease mechanic personally. They feel like such an arbitrary part of the class that the only reason you bother with is so your other abilities can be improved. They really should be a larger part of the class. Reduce some of the insane burst DKs are capable of and increase the damage their diseases do.
Not Warlock/Druid (bleed) levels, but something where inbetween awful and op would be nice.

Honestly, the best way to help with this, make diseases last longer. Have to reapply them every rotation without the unholy talent is honestly an annoyance and a drop of dps over better dps moves. DoT upkeep was a complaint of warlocks, the same arguement can be made for DK's. They found a way to scale outside of needing to do it though, which is what players do when a system is restrictive and annoying. Without looking at that, next time DK's scale or come up with an odd spec/rotation with no diseases again, they'll flock to it once more.
People are naturally lazy, if they can be competitive doing one less thing, they will.
