How can the ratings not get that high if numerous teams get to 2700+? Are there diminishing returns on the amount of rating you can gain off another team despite team ratings being similarly high?

numerous teams? are you kidding? maybe 5 teams in the entire bracket will ever get that high legitimately. Most people up in the 2500+ are going to get investigated for win-trading.

It apear to be easier to get high ratings atm. Won´t this change trivialize Archiviments like "Arena Master" and "Flawless Victor"? If so, do you guys plan to rise the cap?

You know when you beat a team, their rating goes down and thus will be worth less the next time you beat them, right?

The team that drops can also easily get their rating back from teams below them.

With arena being severely more difficult than PvE right now, mainly due to horrid character balance (and inability to get decent Resilence gear to counter the ever-so-easy to obtain PvE DPS gear), these changes still won't poke many casuals into doing arena.

The rating requirements put on items for S3 only made people more desperate to abuse the system, min-max everything possible, and ride the self-fulfillment train all the way to e-peen glory once said items were received. This was also back when PvE was considerably harder and Arena was the only way to get decent gear "fairly" easier. I say fairly pretty loosely.

Regardless, S4 broke a lot of people's wills (and friends accounts too, I might add) with the harsh rating requirements. The excessive rating requirements that still exist today are fruitless when comparing WoW to its PvE game. GC appears to think that character balance will be a lot closer when everyone is in full resilience, however, that will not be possible to get a full set unless you're decked out in full 25-man DPS gear and fit into the confines of certain classes. It's a bit counter productive on many levels. Not to mention, the more casual players will go through the path of least resistance, and will rather just PvE for gear than to PvP.

TLDR: PvE is the new welfare gear. If people want to get into the headache of arena, they should be allowed to purchase what they want regardless of rating. If they're at 1500, it'll still take them many months to get anything of value, something that a decent player well above ~2100 would get in a couple weeks. PvE is far too easy right now for raiding guilds to send their DPS into Arena to get new weapons.

It is easier to get higher ratings due to the scale adjustment. However, I'd still expect a very small percentage of the population to get the arena master achievement, by no means would I call it trivialized.

But hidden rating doesn't rise and fall symmetrical to team rating correct?

You should be able to milk a lot of points from a team before their hidden rating goes down any significant number and starts giving less points?

It certainly is possible to get that high legitimately, although it would be unusual. There's about a 2% chance of seeing a 3000 rated team in a population size of 20,000 teams... about a 5% chance of seeing one in a population of 50,000 teams. So, with the number of battlegroups in existence it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility to see a 3k team. Grats to them. =]

Can we assume that Team Rating gains/losses is calculated in regards to opposition's Team Rating while and the Hidden Rating is calculated from the oppositions? Was going to assume Personal Rating was calculated against the opposition's but that wouldn't make sense since you made the change to try to steer PR towards TR with every match.

Assuming the population of high rated teams is high enough to sustain that many teams at that high of a rating, and that all of those teams are regularly queuing against each other. The rating scale isn't linear and has apparently changed quite a bit (again), so I doubt the situation will come up as much as you might expect.
