Update- 12:30 PM PST- 1/26-

Death Knight creation is now available on Wyrmrest Accord and Winterhoof. Grizzly Hills and Borean Tundra currently are not available for death knight creation.

Update- 9:50 AM PST

Death Knight creation is now available on all eligible realms. Please read the FAQ for more information on death knight creation.

Grizzly Hills and Borean Tundra currently are not available for death knight creation. Character creation is currently locked on Wyrmrest Accord and Winterhoof.

We are continuing to work on allowing death knight creation on all eligible realms per the creation rules for death knights and will provide further updates as soon as they are available.

Please be aware that select players are currently able to create death knights on realms other than the one they currently have a level 55+ character on while others are still unable to do so at this time. We are currently working to address this issue and anticipate this to be corrected as of tonight’s rolling restarts. We will post additional updates after the completion of the restarts.

It was anticipated that with the release of the current patch, 3.0.8, players would be able to create a new death knight on any realm within their region. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are not able to make this available as of yet. We do anticipate making this available in the near future and will do our best to keep everyone informed of when this becomes available.

Please keep in mind that when implemented restrictions will still apply to new, non-transfer realms such that death knights cannot be created on those realms until you level a character to level 55 on that realm or until transfer restrictions are removed.

Whaaaaaaaaa?

I just made a DK on Garithos on my other account that has an 80 on it. I have NO Characters on Garithos, so the DK change DEFINATELY went live. There was a problem with creation at first, but I logged onto the 80, then off, and made the DK on the new server without issue.

Probably has to do you with you logging into your 80 first. I'm imagining it was going to be enabled through some account based flag but it's not automatically populated.

there must be a way that some realms are linked together and other's not... i was able to make one on Nordrassil but not on Grizzly Hills

Just created a DK on caelestrasz who I dont have an 80 on, this service is working.

Thats what I suspect as well, but the initial message I got from the Blue post was that the ability for DKs to be created on servers other than your 80, which is incorrect based on the fact I have 2 new DKs on garithos on 2 accounts, neither of them having 80s (let alone ANY characters) on that server.

What you need to do Blizzard is allow us to create as many Death Knights as we have characters over level 55. i.e. I have 3 characters above level 55, I should be allowed to create 3 Death Knights, so I can have one on my main server, and maybe play another on a different server where other friends play. That way I don't have to start a level 1 and try and catch up to my friends. (But only 1 DK per realm)

EDIT: Yea I just tried it for dawnbringer, it didn't work for me neither.

It appears DKs can only be made of certain servers.

Made a DK on Andorhal, where my highest character is level 50. My level 80 is on Anub'Arak. I did not log onto my 80 first but i did log onto anub'arak.
