Not trying to be pushy here, but just some clarification:

Am I correct in the following statements:

1. In the upcoming patch, the already-listed changes to locks are the 'survival' updates for warlocks.
2. Changes mentioned above will be the only ones for this upcoming patch.
3. The Ulduar(sp?) patch will be the patch that includes the majority of the warlock buffs/changes/etc (including soul-shard revamp)

*Edited the title- Nethaera

Good call Neth. Thank you.

Ghostcrawler actually stated that the Ulduar patch will be primarily "quality of life" adjustments for Warlocks. Meaning, assuming he's using the same definition of "quality of life" Blizzard has always used, that the Warlock PVP buffs are almost all in 3.0.8.

Well after playing this expansion for a while now i can tell you i personally have no reason to believe things will get balanced out soon. I would love for the development team to prove me wrong, and i hope they do. But i wont hold my breath.....

Not what we need friend. I feel similarly, but still...give them a chance.

Which is why I want a bit of clarification on what 'quality of life' means. What exactly he's refering too.

Oh, and I tip my hat to the 1750 2v2 rating. Way to keep trucking bro :)

Would think little things...

-Moving Grim Reach & Destructive Reach higher in their trees to be more easily accessed.

-Tweaking the soulshard system to be more interesting/convenient.
-Making Drain Soul tick every second instead of every 3.

Little things like that I would think

There are a lot of things I'd like, but we have tuns of posts about that. I just want to here from a Blue exactly what we should (and should not) be expecting, and why.

If he has even the slightest bit of intelligence (which I think he does), he would have clarified if he meant to use a different phrase or definition. We can only assume that he actually means he thinks Warlocks will be fixed after 3.0.8 in PVP.

I really like this game, but I am running out of excuses to keep playing it. There's just nothing enjoyable about playing a Warlock anymore. Even when we were second to last in 5v5 representation in S4 I still had a blast. But this is off the charts. Really sad.

My friend, assumptions are the mother of all f-ups. :/ As grim as I have been in prior posts, I really just want some straight answers from the horse's mouth. I just want to know what the devs are thinking.

I don't want us to be known as QQLOCK for the rest of our game, so getting in the dev's minds and adjusting from there seems the best option.

The changes we got in for 3.0.8 (aside from some general bug fixes) were mostly designed to help locks survive longer in PvP. I don't think you have all of the changes yet -- for instance we very recently juiced up pet health for some pets. I start to lose track of which changes are on the PTR versus changes we've announced that you haven't seen yet versus changes we haven't announced. Once 3.0.8 ships this will all be a lot clearer.

For 3.1 we are probably going to make some larger changes to the class. I still don't want to oversell these. A popular yet cynical phrase among players is that their class needs to be rebuilt from the ground up (though I see this with probably every class, which is slightly amusing). We are not deleting the warlock and starting over. We are not doing that with any class and probably never will. We do want to smooth out some rough edges of the class though. A few things that I have said we want to look at are:

1) Improve deep Demonology for PvP and PvE.
2) Make Affliction feel less dependent on dot timers and other external mods (nothing wrong with the mods -- we just think it's getting harder and harder to play the spec with the default UI).
3) Take a hard look at Soul Shards.
4) Take a hard look at the way pets scale.

What did it take for them to get buff......

Survivability better mean a way to deliver our damage in pvp. Lasting 10 seconds longer means nothing if it still takes us 30 seconds to kill someone.

Something the devs should understand.....we bought an unfinished product, and idk about you but when i spend my hard earned cash on something that is broken i complain, because i dont like being ripped off.

This helps.

So your enumerated items will be (hopefully) done in 3.1

And there are still some survivability changes coming in the next update....

I do hope so. :/ The changes to demon armor and summoning circle just...aren't enough at the moment. It...sucks...playing a lock in PVP right now. :/ And it sucks having your class thought of as a joke. Heh...I'm ridiculously proud of getting to 1700 as a lock in 2v2s...and that's a bad sign.

Would it be so bad to give us a full-list of the changes you guys intend to roll out for the next patch and let us mull over them?

I can't say I find GC's words encouraging. Until there is some recognition that warlocks are just totally broken in pvp we're probably going to keep sucking if all we're getting are a few buffs here and there.

Bear form is not a pvp spec, its a gimmick your trying to force on locks that want to do well in pvp. Armor contribution doesnt matter when it can be reduced to ZERO in a few globals,....Great 51 talent points for something that can be countered with baseline abilities people get at lvl 10-20.

I hope it was bumped substantially, it's very frustrating to keep up a pet in arena, if for any reason imp health funnel is interrupted it dies, and this is with a mage focus firing a felhunter with druid hots on it. It's impossible to keep it up against melee with ms.

During beta it was wait till live.During live it was wait till 80.During 80 it was wait till resil. When you get resil, it'll be wait till S6.
