Now that the higher rated players have started to reach over 4k arena points, and assuming they want to buy a 4500 arena point item, did Blizzard honestly not foresee almost every single player wishing to buy one of these to go over the 5000 point cap?

In my situation, I'll have well over 1200 points earned next week and I'm already at 4346 points right now after the update. If I wanted to buy a 4500 point item, that would force me to waste over 500 arena points for absolutely nothing. How does this make sense?

Please hotfix this issue before it becomes even more problematic next week when people actually begin hitting this cap and lose points because of it.

If you're a player this could possibly affect, please bump this thread until it is resolved.

Also, please lower the point requirement of Deadly Gear if you're going to decrease the rating requirement. 4500 points is obscene considering that S4 weapons cost 3750 and were among the best in the game (Deadly weapons, by contrast, pale in comparison to 25 man naxx weapons).

Common sense, easy fix.

They just need to increase it 1k or so. 4499 + 1500 = 5999. I doubt anybody will be breaking 3K Team Rating in 5s.

I don't think there's any reason for a point cap at all these days; arena points are reset every season now.

Given the costs of arena gear, another thing to take into consideration is the fact that it is nearly impossible to buy every single piece of gear through arena points alone.

Total points required for 5 set + weapon + relic: 15600

At 2150 2v2 rating, you gain exactly 931 points per week. That means it'll take 17 weeks to get a full set of pvp gear, assuming you didn't waste any points on Hateful already. This is not even counting classes that choose to pick up two sets for pvp (shadow/disc, balance/feral, etc)

Seasons, on average, have lasted a little more than 5-6 months each. That means unless you've ground up a high pr rating at the start and will continue to maintain it for the entire season, the only way you will have access to pvp gear is through Lootavon, which doesn't even require pvp/rating to obtain.

Be happy that you're the most OP class, paired with 2nd most OP.
I'll be happy that I'm 3rd more OP and we'll all be damned skippy.
