After gearing up a bit, I now have 19% Haste from just gear and a Spellstone. With a totem, I have 24% Spell Haste.

Why does my Imp get 0 of that? Any chance haste scaling could be added?

Yes, I have tried to post several times that the way pets receive buffs from their masters is inconsistent. We need to take a holistic look at stats, especially those like hit, spell pen and haste. It doesn't make sense, for example, for a pet to receive a percentage of your spell hit. Where are they ever going to get the remainder of their hit from?

Many classes have pets now, and those classes have different stats to provide to those pets. While locks and hunters (and DKs to a lesser extent) are the most dependent on having a good system in place, the whole paradigm just needs to be reexamined. It is on the list.

I'm of the opinion that pets should scale with one stat, spell power. They need defensive scaling, threat scaling (voidwalker, FG) as well as damage scaling.

I'll try to resist the urge :P

GC mentioned that enhancement spirit wolves will be scaling with our stats next patch, I can't imagine it being too hard to give the same treatment to permanent pets

Good to know this is in the works!

If it was me, I'd just keep it simple imo. Straight % of all stats go to pet.

I would do 100% for Hit and Haste of course. ;)

100% for resilience and a lot more HP than they have now.

I think they should change the system so that pets get all of their stats from their owners, and are not directly buffable.

Ah, yes, that makes sense.

Of course, the coefficient on stat scaling would have to be much higher then.

But it would make buffing less annoying. (Vent: "WAIT don't pull yet, Fluffy needs kings!")

i see, yea if pets get 100% you wouldn't want fort to basically double up on them, you'd want their hp to be at a reasonable place (i.e. not 9k roflwat) without needing x class on your team to put buff on them+master


editing in necessary troll: what moron decided to release the game with 9k hp pets... im glad it's being fixed/ looked at/ w.e, but first time i pulled out felhunter when hitting 80 i noticed it was 9k and facepalmed.
