I don't think it was blizzard's intentions for this forum to be used to troll, and yet here you are.

Even with a bit of expertise and haste, it's not much. Haste isn't even a great stat for dps or tanking atm. There's some armor pen. on it, so there you go. Once again, it's not much... but there's a little of everything and not a lot of what either would want. To a lot of people the feral T7 was made to benefit both tanking and dps, but didn't work very well for either. The lack of hit rating, in my opinion, is the most painful thing of it all.

Regardless, here's the part where I defend Blizz (I know, it's astonishing!). This is an introductory set. If we look at the raid progression this seems like it compares to T4, which wasn't amazing for it's time either. Let's just hope that T8 has something changed to work for all of the ferals (although I would be hesitant to bet on it). For now, just look for the items that get you the stats you need, T7 was never made to be a necessity for any class, so don't think that just because it's the new tier it means it's the best in the game.

The OP seems a little confused about this gear.

Feral T7 isn't better for bears than for cats; in fact, it's about equally bad for both.

Take a look at the stats T7 has on it, looking at which is good or bad for cats and bears.

Stamina: Quite good for bears, Cats need "enough" to not die due to unavoidable damage, so it's not a waste.
Agility: Awesome for both bears and cats.
Crit Rating: Essentially useless for bears, since we crit enough to proc Imp. LotP every 6 seconds anyways. Adds a little tank dps I guess... yay? For cats, not a bad stat at all, crits = dps increase.
Expertise: A good tanking stat to avoid dodge's and parry-hasting on bosses, but we're swamped with so much of it on the rogue gear we're forced to wear that we really really really don't need any more of it, already have too much. For cats, an excellent stat up to the boss dodge-cap; a dodged or (if you're foolish and in front of the boss) parry = no damage done, so it's useful... to a point.
Attack Power: Bears really don't care, all it does is boosts our tanking dps a wee bit... Cats, increases dps which is what you're all about.
Haste: Pretty much useless for both bear and cat.

3 stats that are good for bears (Sta, Agi, Expertise to a point), 2 almost useless stats (Crit, AP) and 1 useless (haste).

4 stats that are good for cats (Sta to a point, Crit, AP, Agi), 1 decent stat (Expertise) and 1 essentially useless stat (Haste).


Cats have it pretty good with the Tier gear compared to bears imo. I wouldn't complain about it being itemized with bears in mind since it's more cat oriented anyways.

Actually T4 2 piece was widely used far into sunwell for dps. I am glad that i likely will not be using the T7 bonuses forever, how 2-piece T4 was for dps in TBC. Hopefully T8 has some moderately useful, but not mandatory set bonuses for cat and bear, and maybe some hit.

That's a good, valid point and something I may have overlooked. I still think it's comparable since end game for the time being will likely have Ferals using 2 piece, though maybe not more than that.

Honestly it's probably better for bear than it is cat. Cats white hitting for 300-400, bears at least turns it's white hits into massive mauls. I know someone will say boss parries, but that doesn't stop warriors from using 1.5 speed weapons instead of 2.6(I know slow tank weapons are rare, but the ones that exist people give a big 'no' to.).

Of course it's still a horrible stat for both and something I literally ignore when comparing two pieces of gear, but it's worst for cat I'd say.

Hm... we'll, definitely is a dps bonus over just the barkskin increase. But I'm not sure it's really worth going after. It would take a five minute fight at least before the shorter cooldown would let us get even one extra Tiger's Fury in. But, it is a dps bonus of some sort at least.

No, they aren't. HaT rogues are first and BM hunters are routinely beaten by DKs, mages, and warriors.

And what do you mean you don't have gear for your spec? Isn't it almost exactly the same as rogue gear?
