Does this games balance seriously all come to the head of one person for final desicions.....no council , no group of like minded equally empowered individuals working towards balance for the greater good of the game......you seriously gonna tell me GC is the end all be all of Checks and Balances, because if so that would be a good excuse for how neglected lock pvp is.

I don't know exactly where GC is in the pecking order, but I assume that there is a group of people who discuss the issues and a boss who has final say.

Also, Jethro Tull is lame.

I'm fairly sure I've seen him say that balance issues get a LOT of discussion. I've also seen feedback from these forums influence decisions, so obviously it's not a dictatorship.

He's just one guy on a team, he just happens to be the public face atm. I highly doubt anything is his sole decision. He's even made a post called "It's not the Ghostcrawler show" if I remember correctly.

He's just the one dev. brave enough to wade through the ocean of tears to talk to us. He's said before that changes are discussed by groups of individuals.

I've also seen him say "finally something I can work with" so maybe he is the final say person. But whatever. Why does this matter at all? Just play the game and enjoy it for what it is a game. Who cares if a dumbass or a brilliant person makes it as long as you're having fun with it. Blizzard is just hands down awesome with most of their game decision proven by their 11 million subscription to WoW. Does it matter if one person or a group of person makes the decision? It does not as long as the majority of the player is enjoying the game.

The designers come to a consensus on any change that would be remotely controversial. We also get a lot of input from the rest of the team and the community so we can make informed decisions. If I come up with a stupid idea, someone will call me on it, and they would expect me to do the same. If we come up with a crazy idea, we might talk about it for a little then shake our heads and realize it's crazy. I have never overruled anyone nor have I been overruled. That's just not the way Blizzard works. It's a pretty happy place. People feel empowered to do their jobs.

I have no problem with you blaming me for anything you don't like in the game, but I also want to give credit to the literally hundreds of people that work together to make WoW happen.

Don't argue with idiots. They bring you to their level and beat you with experience.

Good to know Blizz isn't like Initech from Office Space...but which one would be Milton if it were? :P

I dunno. Drinking gin out of a coffee cup just makes me feel old and surly. In a good way.

Lesson to be learned: in the future when you're leaps and bounds beyond overpowered, don't brag endlessly about how delicious other classes' tears taste, or how your class takes a tremendous amount of skill (when it never did), or how the only reason people can't beat you is they suck at their class. It doesn't feel so good when the tides are turned.

Trust me, I hated it when all the stupid huntards were bragging about demolishing rogues after WoW 1.7. At some point you get karma'd.

"We hate healers. If they come into Arenas they should DIEDIEDIE to any rogue with a green dagger."

Without giving away too much "confidential" info =P could you give us a brief summary of what a normal work day for you entails?

I know you guys think lock PVP is ignored. Priests think their PVP is ignored, etc. Yet you have to consider: there are 30 specs out there, PVP, raiding, questing, and 5-mans out there. That means the amount of time they can spend on average considering a single spec's performance in one particular venue is approximately 4 minutes per day out of each of the people on the class balance team. If you expect more than that consistently, then it's just not going to happen.

My point is this: this is a big game, with hundreds of abilities, and thousands of interactions between those abilities that need to be considered. Is WoW perfect? No. Can you have fun playing it? 11 million people seem to think so, and indicate this with their wallets.
