I think what Foofy is getting at here is that it would be easier if they would just tell us the answer to this straightforward question about a rather confusing tooltip.

Hitting enter a bunch makes you cool.

And really... it just sounds like you're too lazy to actually test it for any extended period of time then... RNG matters less the large your sample size is.. even excluding that though..

the tooltip seems fairly explicit as is, there's nothing to imply it shouldn't work that way, if anything, see rend and tear. You get the bonus if the target is rended or if it's raked or if it's ruptured.

We've done a ton of testing. A TON of testing. How many times do I need to tell you that moron?

The tooltip is not explicit. So when you come back with your own tests since you seem to think we didn't do enough, come on back. Until then kindly shut up.

Wisp, you are gonna get banned -.- Just ask nicely. I'm sure if he sees this topic still active after a few days he'll answer.

GC says he reads every topic. It's not like he's answered this question somewhere else that we're just missing, and it's not like it should be common knowledge because the tooltip is not clear.

Not asking for much, just a simple clarification of the intent of this talent, because the tests that have been run by players are not conclusive.

I am almost positive the talent is looking at your spells. So if you cast Wrath, it does a check to see if you also have FF up on the target.

The intent of the talent is to encourage you to cast Faerie Fire, compensating you a little for the fact that you are debuffing the target. It isn't intended to just be "here have some crit." The intent is that if you cast FF, even if the debuff is already on the mob, you are rewarded for it.

I suspect it isn't smart enough to detect Feral Faerie Fire now that it's a base spell, so we should probably fix the case of a Balance druid who casts FFF and then goes back to Wrath or whatever.

I am just guessing based on the way spells usually work. I did not try this myself so I could be wrong.

I will also admit that there are some inconsistencies currently in the game between whether you are supposed to apply a debuff again on a mob that already has it (because sometimes you get a "More Powerful Spell" error). This is something we're trying to clean up though.

Yeah, that's really annoying. I try to apply FFF when I have basically nothing else to do, particularly when low on rage, and often I'm in the middle of a GCD / 50-100% rage when the buff wears off, so not being able to re-apply it before then sucks.

Why is your answer so confusing?

I believe what he said was 'it isn't supposed to work if you haven't cast faerie fire on the mob, but he's not sure if thats how its currently working, but it IS supposed to work if you cast feral faerie fire yourself and then switch to caster/boomkin form'

thats how i understood it. Basically. It isn't supposed to work that way, but theres a fairly good chance it is working that way.
