I completely agree, the 2:00 was VERY doable for DPS classes (like me, I did it) but did require some practice to do it right. I can see how for a healing class 2:00 is not reasonable, but 3:00 would basically fix that, while still making it at least somewhat challenging (i.e. more than 3 down phases and you probably won't get it).

Making it 4:00 makes it completely trivial. Unless people are running 3 healer 5 mans, which I don't think is common!

I agree with the philosophy that some achievements should be easy and some should be hard, but I disagree that anything should be trivial. Make this 3:00 and you'll have solved the problem perfectly.

I am curious as to why the 'Not in my House' Achievement was hotfixed, yet 'Gotta Go!' isnt?

Both are doable, even if its pretty damn hard, and both block rewards, I don't see the difference.

gotta go doesn't effect other players outside a group that someone was invited to. not in my house effected people who may have no intentions of doing the achievement. i spent 3-4 hours one night just to do 3 games all of which i lost because everybody was trying to do this achievement (needless to say only one of the four someone actually got the achievement.)

to be honest im kinda sad gota go is getting nerfed.
have it a feat of strength maybe?
the only thing i didnt like about doin this is the times we got the boss under 24% before the 1st time he went under, n then bugged n never came back up. kinda funny that our problem was to much dps tho

its kinda fun having really hard achivments, just makes getting them more satisfying.

I went for the first night of trying to get Gotta Go! - took us 8 tries, and it wasn't really all that bad. We did it in 1:50 iirc so plenty of room to spare. No bloodlust or anything, just a respectable DPS team. Heck, we even had a paladin who's not normally ret in offspec gear.

We were just talking about lack of content and how achievements were really helping to make up for it. This felt like a "hard mode" version, much like Sarth 3D - I'm very sad that it's being completely eliminated for all intents and purposes. 4 minutes is too long.

Volazj's quick demise is fairly easy to execute. Used to be bugged where you could LOS the insanity but they hot fixed that. We killed him in 18 seconds total; but that requires bringing 4 DPS and a tank. You just have to burn from 66% to 33% before he finishes casting Insanity. At that point he'll start casting the second one. You won't have to deal with the adds from the first one yet, he'll die and then you get 2 sets of adds. Unfortunately this ends up having the inability of looting the body; but hey, you got an achievement.




Yay.


Watch Him Die isn't really that hard at all (clever use of game mechanics ftw), Volazj's, Gotta Go and Make It Count are all much harder as you need non retarded people as well as geared, and having the healer that helped you get there either sit out or go respec to finish it (non-Occ ones).

this would be great
all those baddies will be on a red proto drake now because the actual achievement is not an achievement anymore.. its just a... kill the boss without much effort.... an achievement u can get by accident...

For one, having any healer spec makes it virtually impossible becasue the shades of the healer do insane healing and make insanity phase last longer. Second, the healer himself obviously can't kill his adds as fast and can't contribute to boss dps as much. Third, you can actually dps him TOO fast and cause both sets of insanity adds to spawn at the same time which will usually cause a wipe. So yes, the "Quick Demise" achievement actually punishes you for having too high of dps.

I'll try to form a group for this again and either respec elemental and heal that way so my shade can be killed faster and I can kill other shades, or bring a pally to DI me and SS up so that both mine and his adds don't spawn. I don't think they really intended it to be so difficult that it requires that kind of strategies.



its EASILY doable without the los bug...
we did it about 5 times.. without failing once..

Volazj's is really, really easy if you take 2 minutes to think about the mechanics of the encounter.

Gotta Go is fairly gimmicky, as a lot depends on the luck of when he does his casts...with some leeway, if you can feasibly halt all non-DoT dps. We spent an hour force wiping for that luck before we got it the first time...any sub-80% cast was a guaranteed skip of a phase, an 80-85% cast was making it a little more dicey (though definitely doable, say 60% success rate), but any cast above 85% just wasn't going to work.

That being said, making it 4 minutes is making it one of the non-achievement achievements. As a fellow guildie of mine summed it up perfectly: "I'm pretty sure we killed him in under 4 minutes on accident when we were all in level 70 gear."
