I see everyone on the forums complaining about them... In a raid I usually have like 700+ mp/5 in combat, with Spirit-World Glass, Innervate, and a mana potion, I usually end the fight with around 20% mana or so. I usually have highest activity and most heals as well.

What are you guys doing to run out of mana so fast?

i honestly think that most raids have low dps and even you cant heal for forever.

a lot of raids are running into inrage timers with the boss still at 20-30% health.

I never have issues with my druid..... If anyone remembers the great stair fight in Zul Farrak, ive healed that as a lvl 45. That is we went srrait to the bottom and fought all three waves without the help of the elites. No one died and I finishedc the fight with over 30% manna. I used no potions and didnt use Inn. either.

Thanks!

Misuse of spells is what gets it for me, when the rest of the raid is properly geared and well-played.

I tried Malygos for fun last night. We were all new, and weren't sure what to expect. We had two healers---priest and myself. We were wasting loads of mana the first two times we tried it. Then, their raid leader suggested that the priest focus on the tank, and I focus on raid healing (it could have gone the other way, but they just wanted to divide it up, and I prefer raid healing anyway :P ). After we made those healing assignments, we were wasting MUCH LESS mana. It was amazing! It was much more balanced.

So it's just things like that, that might cause me to run out of mana----trying to heal everyone all the time should be avoided.

Just for the record, that fight looks very fun! The cosmic setting is beautiful and the dragon is so pretty! I like it. We didn't make it past phase 1, but it was still fun to be in there. :-)

This is because most DPS players are terribads. God, get a DPS meter and look at your own performance and try to improve. /angrydrunktankrant

When I see Resto druids run out of mana, it is often because they stacked spellpower and forgot about spirit, mp5 and int. On shorter fights it can be attractive, but on the longer bosses like Saph and KT, that mana pool and regen really start to count for something.

so true.

i have had people tell me they think resto runs oom to fast then i look at them and they have 150 or less mp5 and under 500 spirit with a 14k ish mana pool.

also have see other druids spamming heals non stop no matter what. its like we are in combat i have to be casting 100% of the time.

i dont see how blizz should be responsible for fixing stupid players.

Through sunwell the amount of regen on gear was so amazing that all healers did were spam heals never leaving GCD, and a lot of healers made this a habit, which i can picture you doing as the top healer. i'm too lazy to look at your armory, but i'd suggest int gems in at least the yellow slots if not all, With the shadow priest changes a big mana pool is amazing.

I have zero problem with mana in our small 5 man guild.

Course we have a Ret Pally, Survival Hunter, and a Shaman who drops the mana regen totem :)

Ignoring regen has been the most common failing of healers, of any class, since WoW classic (and for the record, I raided as a Holy Priest then).

It doesn't help that +healing has become "the stat" by which most PUGs and even some guilds decide who to invite.

Despite all my rage, I am still just a Paladin tank.

I find it VERY VERY difficult to run out of mana lately. I've got around 1200-1300mp5 while not casting/500-600 while casting, and I have the innervate glyph. I will probably start stacking spellpower soon.

Since the issue of spirit and mana regen has been brought up lets talk about it, what is enough? My personal goal is to see if I can get to 600 mp/5 while casting mostly from spirit raid buffed (that way innervate will be insain, and give me a full mana bar when spamming expensive heals.), I am lacking right now, i am at 390something raid buffed.

I look at my stats as (ones on the same line means I value them the same)

1) Spell power/Spirit
2) Int/sta
3) Crit
4) straight mp5
5) Haste

only have 1093 spirit unbuffed.

I am... supposed to use mana?? And drink to get it back??

*boggle*

Any druid running out of mana is probably under-geared or stacking the wrong stats, like stacking all Spell Power and ignoring Spirit and mp/5. I'm working on crit at the moment for fun since I never run out of mana in raids anymore. :D

We have done the impossible, and that makes us mighty.

Blizzard logs show druids using Wild Growth as a primary heal. Druids are reporting running out of mana too quickly. Coincidence?

It's simply a difference between face-rolling and being smart. I've managed to run myself out of mana on 10-man Grob after he hit 30% and we lost another healer early. I was having to pop heals on everyone, never got out of 5sr, and had to use Wild Growth more than usual.

Other than that one case, I haven't had much of a mana issue while grouping with appropriately geared folks. Keeping an unholy specced DK tank with 21k health alive through heroic Strat caused some mana strain, but that's a different story.
