You are in cat form.

You use 25 energy and 5 combo points for a finishing move to gain 40% AP for 34 seconds.

You powershift to remove a snare, go defensive into bear, or pop out to rebirth in a raid setting.

You then lose the AP bonus essentially wasting 25 energy and 5 combo points.

The logic seems flawed here.

Anyone else's thoughts?

If rogues shift out of rogue form they lose slice and dice, it's fine.

If rogues shift out of rogue form it usually means he needs a rez.

Leveling enchanting is a huge pain.

Hunters are also supposed to get an actual version of Trap Mastery (GC himself said it was a placeholder in beta). Don't hold your breath :P

"Clearly a hunter weapon."
"But sir, that's a shield..."
"...HUNTER WEAPON!"

I'm a Cubs fan, Bengals fan, and a Hunter...can I catch a break SOMEWHERE?!

We fixed Savage Roar as you described.

I have never commented on Trap Mastery as far as I am aware.

Well, I believe when it was moved it was called "a placeholder" to be changed for better soon after WotLK released, not sure if you personally called it a placeholder.

Q u o t e:
- Trap Mastery - This will now be the 41-point Survival talent. Granted, not very sexy for a 41-pointer but we'll do some changes there in a future patch (after WOLK ships).

So you don't recall saying you would look into creating or upgrading our 41 point talent in survival to something more befitting it's new place in the tree? I recall it clearly from the patch notes when the moves that swapped Readiness, Scatter Shot, and Trap Mastery happened. I really don't know which employee said it, but it was said, and nothing has been done. If one developer posted that you guys were working on it, wouldn't at least a few others know about it? There's been a few threads about it, so I don't see how this could have possibly dropped off the radar. It's an absolutely pathetic 41 point talent.

There's a number of things you guys could do. I would push Noxious stings to 41 points, buff it a bit by making it 1 point or something and push trap mastery back down into the lower half of the tree where it belongs. Trap mastery really has no place above the 4th tier of any talent tree.

Or if you really want to do something substantial, create a worthwhile 41 pointer that boosts Survival's damage and reign back the explosive buff just a bit. If we had a 41 point talent that boosted Survival DPS 1) explosive shot wouldnt need such a massive buff, 2) trap dancing wouldn't become necessary or overpowering, and 3) we deserve SOMETHING worthwhile at 41 points just like every other class/spec. Ranged Immolation trap shot? The ability to turn any trap into a shot?

Instead of making trap dancing for Lock'n'Load procs an unintended aspect of Survival DPS that might have to be nerfed, support it and balance around it. An immolation trap shot would be pretty cool for raid dpsing and keep the spec somewhat interesting and unique.

Wow, well this really makes me wonder if GC thinks it's an appropriate 41 point talent when I was able to get it for 11 points before they gutted SV...

An idea I was thinking of was as well as buffing traps, the talent reduces the visible range of them as well. Maybe apply this to freezing arrow as well and make the shot have an invisible flight.

Another one I thought of was make the talent also give you the ability to lay a "fake" trap. The trap would be a decoy and off the trap timer. That way you could trick people in running away from it and use it to your advantage etc. I would think it would need to be a random trap however (be it green/red/blue) so that opponents would have a little help in telling if its fake.

Just a few ideas. I've been waiting for a long time for them to fix/buff this talent. It is the most lackluster 41 pointer in game currently.
