Q u o t e:
In an ideal world, we don't want Demonology (or any spec for any class) to be THE PvP tree.
Could this mean they are working towards buffing prot paladin pvp.

Prot warriors are better at PvP than they used to be. They still aren't as attractive as Arms and Fury.

Ultimately, we'd love to get Prot paladins as viable as Ret or Holy, but we realize we have long way to go.

Perhaps giving players a taunt in PvP would work. Basically force the enemy to target the 'tank' for X amount of seconds.

I swear every retard on my server rolled a DK. I have one at 63

GC, I think the key talent is Reckoning. Please take a hard look at it.

What is this supposed to do? PvE burst for threat? - why? We have taunts.

PvP "fun" talent? Needs to be more reliable. Push it deeper, if it's meant for Prot only. Swapping with 1H spec is a good start.

Right now, all you're doing is teasing the Ret Pallies with this PvP wannabe talent.

EDIT: spelling

The two ranks of Shield of Righteousness are on separate cooldowns (LOL).

The current number 1 problem with protection pvp is mana. That's a problem that will probably take a lot of work to fix. I don't expect to have it tomorrow. Or next month. Hopefully by next year would be good.

Switch wisdom to ~11% of base mana instead of 4% max mana.

It'd still be a nerf to holy paladins in any situation they could actually use it, but really, 4% of a the mana pool holy paladins will someday reach may end up getting nerfed anyway.

This is one of the big structural problems with hybrid scaling right now, and it will only get worse.

As talent trees grow longer and gear adds more stat, base stats/abilities grow weaker. The addition of spellpower helped caster healer/caster DPS hybrids, but nothing was done to help melee/caster hybrids like Feral Druids or Prot Paladins, so the problem got worse.

No one should be using base mana pools/abilities at 80. If Prot Pallys or Feral Druids aren't getting mana/mana regen from gear, they need to get it converted from melee stats via talents.

Anyone else confused by GC and protadins?

When it was announced that paladins were finally getting a baseline taunt ability, GC said that it was not the elusive 11 point protadin ability.

Then, in a topic asking GC specifically about the said ability, GC says there is nothing done about it and its remain to be seen what is needed if anything; basically implying the 11 point ability was scrapped.

And now, he admits the protadin spec doesn't jive well in pvp compared to the other tank classes.

WTFBBQ?

Cool a response! Kidding, I know you are a busy person GC. If I can say something. The fix for tanks in pvp would be to simply allow them to be able to gain control of the enemy. Some suggest that Taunt should force the enemy to target you for xxx seconds. Interesting enough, Blizzard has stated they don't want to allow taunt in pvp because they don't like the idea of having players loose control of their toon. But then the contradiction in this:

Rogues: Stun you from 100-0 and if you don't have a trinket chances are you won't even have control of your character.

Fear: Need I say more?

Mind Control: The staple in the contradictory statement of not wanting other players to lose control of their character.

Polymorph: Surprise!

Cyclone spam: Yup.

Death Grip: Hello there!

So I don't see the big deal. If anything Taunt should work like this:

Taunt: Forces the enemy to target you. Not for xxx seconds but simply makes them shift target from who ever they were wanting to hit to you. They are free to change back if they are fast enough. This is how tank taunt worked sort of in Lineage II.

First Taunt: Target me!

Second Taunt: Attack me! (Which forces the enemy to actually attack you unwillingly).

Tanks need to be viable, the recent buffs to them are nice but it by no means gives them a way to do what they are designed to do in pve. It just has made them surrogate dps classes with survivability. So yeah, two out of the big three needs boosted a role.

Dps: Massive burst dmg atm, need I say more?

Healers: Instant death by burst dmg classes.

Tanks: Zero role and representation in pvp.

See the problem? Only 1/3 are functioning like they should in pve and pvp. The other two are trailing behind. I'm not asking for a you know a instant fix. I just want to eventually see my favorite classes have a role in pvp. In short, defensive and support classes need a huge buff in pvp.
