0. @GC: Scorpid Poison bug (not what you think) 12/21/2008 03:08:54 PM PST
Currently if there are two hunters in a raid or party using scorpid pets, the scorpid poison stack is not applied for each scorpid pet. What happens is that Scorpid #1 puts up the first stack of the poison, then Scorpid #2 puts up a poison stack, which goes right on top of the first one from Scorpid #2. All the damage gets attributed to the first scorpid poison stack and it's the old rolling ignite deal.
Is this intended or is Blizzard even aware of it? What's the word? Thanks.

Q u o t e: Inb4 Scorpids are getting nerfed in the next patch.
Doesn't matter, right now you can only use one per raid anyway. After the nerf, it would be nice to know if this is a viable raid pet anyway even if there is already one in the raid.

Thanks, but that's not my question. This has implications in Arenas as well if by some absurd miracle a team actually has 2 hunters on it.
Actually, the damage itself isn't "bugged" except for the fact that two separate scorpids in the same group can't put up separate stacks of scorpid poison. It does however, scale extremely well (and continues to do so on the PTR). Thank you though for keeping this bumped.

Ok by Bugged I mean if you pop all your cooldowns and use your AP trinket then have your Scorpid apply its poison while your cds are popped its poison will tick for a lot more, and once your CDS go down, as long as your scorpid keeps the poison up it will still scale as if you still had your cds popped.
An interstellar burst... I'm back to save the universe!

Fine, whatever. Yes I'm aware that it used to work like this, wasn't sure if it still is working like that, but that's not what I'm asking about.
However, are you aware that it's currently ACTUALLY bugged in that if you and I both were in the same raid group with scorpid pets, only one stack of Scorpid Poison would go up on the target, every application of the poison from either pet just refreshes the same stack, rather than each scorpid's invidual stack of poison.
So, that's what I'm asking about, if that's intended or not or if Bliz is even aware of it. Thanks again for the bump.

Q u o t e:
I'm pretty sure that was fixed about a year ago.
The Shadow Embrace bug was fixed, too. But the new policy of not letting buffs stack 'unfixed' it. Unholy Death Knights have the same complaint with Ebon Plaguebringer.

Ah, OK, now we're getting somewhere... so the mechanic exists elsewhere... does it exist with rogues stacking poisons and/or druids stacking their DoT thing (do those work the same even?), AND more importantly, has that been confirmed to be working as intended or a bug for DKs?

Q u o t e: We are aware of a few cases in which this is happening. While we don't want the debuff to stack, we don't want anyone to get cheesed out of their disease multipliers either. We'll fix it.
In the mean time, maybe people will actually try the other two DK trees. :)
So, it stands to reason that the Scorpid Poison application being shared between however many Scorpids there are in the raid is not working as intended as well wouldn't you think?
