0. Guide to " a rogue leveling spec " 08/31/2007 06:25:09 PM PDT
Alright, I see the same question over and over "What's the best weapon/talent build for leveling?". We all have different opinions on which way is the most fun. Some people prefer to level with daggers, but when it comes down to the most efficient way to level a rogue, it's hard to argue against a combat spec with swords (or even maces before sword spec.). Here are two differen't ways I felt someone could go about leveling a rogue: the first with Riposte and the 2nd without. These are based around a very typical 19/42/0 build.
*These are hypothetically 2 ways I would level a rogue.
It is not all the way to 70 because there is already going to be enough controversy on talent chioce/order.
I'm open to any discussion as well as constructive criticism (talent chioce, order, spelling/errors)

Thank you both for your replies. I'm glad it was useful to someone ^_^
edit:
oh and dirtydeeds, that's a very nice guide you wrote up in your sig. I considered making something that elaborate, but didn't end up taking it that far. Thank you also for your work. In comparision to yours, I chose to go for precision before malice due to the "you can't crit what you can't hit" theory.

Q u o t e: I dunno I have been both Sub spec and Combat swords and I haven't had a prob with both when it came to grinding down the exp, but good guide none the less.
Thank you ^^ In repsonse, honestly I'm not a fan of sub spec at all. Hemo is ok(and getting better from what it looks like), but shadowstep was not for me at all. I've played mutilate some and enjoyed it quite a bit, but I don't think either assassination or subtlety are the easiest, most effecient ways to level. That's just my opinion though.

Q u o t e: I'm leveling my rogue combat swords, its god mode, currently level 45 and flying. I pimped him out with leg armor, 20agi enchants on weps, 12 agi cloak, AP on gloves/bracers, stats on chest.
If this is your alt, you can really speed up grinding on rogues/hunters by going all out on enchants, moreso then other classes. I would ignore stam enchants for the most part if you're interested in saving money, just buy enchants that can bump your dps. Only reason I went for the stam leg armor over AP was price, the 30 stam ones were going for 50g and the AP ones were 300g.
Screw dungeons if you can afford AH upgrades, I just buy gear and quest/grind like crazy. Use Jame's guides on wow-pro.com for really fast leveling.
glad that combat swords is working out well for you
