Its a shame to see that battlegrounds are now 100% useless, atleast on the alliance side. AFk'ers are NOT only found in AV but they ruin all my AB games as well. (for the few I've played since returning) Its a shame since it was a fun part of the game for me, before I took a break from the game. Now I'm wishing I would haved saved the money. Hopefully, new games will learn from this and have fun battleground pvp once again.

I just had 4 people standing behind the building in my last AB game. Is this normal, or maybe I just got unlucky? Usually 2 or 3 per match on my server. Makes it hard to compete.

Nope. Reported 3 of them last night in AB. Could see the guy sitting in Trollbane Hall the entire battle. We were 4 capped, and pushed back to the Hall, so I went in to make sure. Saw the guy just sitting there, crafting bandaids (he was in my group).
It's WORST on AV for Horde, but the leeches are pretty much everywhere.

Iv Come accross afkers in every battleground on my server av is alway. Eye of the storm seems to have the least but ya battlegrounds are usless now cant wait for the next expansion to come out and see what they give us.

i've played on both sides and there's alot of AFKers on both alliance and horde, and not just AV. AB and WSG also, usually you dont see them because most dont do it out in the open, they pick a spot in the hills on the sides of the map where they can hide. You probably wouldnt notice, its not until after looking at your map several times, that you see the dot showing their location hasn't moved from that spot at the edge of the map for the whole game.

Never said that. Just said it was a very fun part of the game for me. I'll contnue the pve aspect, but it kinda sucks that BGs are broken.

Battlegrounds are useless now because there are no rankings or real competition, all they are for is honor for gear to only be used in arenas. Kind of broken system.

The next patch notes have something about a booting system being implemented. Or was that the interview I saw? I think the interview.
You vote for an AFKer and when enough people vote, that person gets a debuff for 30s. If that person doesn't get in combat in 30s, they get booted.
It's not foolproof and it's not good enough - Blizzard could fix it sooo easily - but it's something.
And if you think a couple AFKers is bad in AB, try 20+ horde AFK in AV.

We are adding a feature with patch 2.2.0 that gives players the ability to report afkers in the battlegrounds. Once they have enough reports on them they will get a debuff that will count down 30 seconds. They will need to engage in combat during that time or they will get another debuff that will prevent them from gaining any further honor. Once they engage in combat, the debuff is removed immediately.
There is debate on both sides of the coin as to whether this will be the solution to AFKers, but we wanted to give a way for players to take some action against people camping in Battlegrounds that had some impact.

I have 60000+ lifetime honor kills across my players.
Trust me, reroll horde if you want to do BGs for fun. I am currently doing so.

AFKing won't stop horde from dominating 90% and higher of the PUG BGs. Honestly, I can't even figure it out. I just assume all the good PVPers went to horde from the beginning. I doubt afking will even the sides in BGs (except in the only BG where horde consistently loses, which is AV).

So instead of fighting in BGs I now have to police my own team? Nice, sounds just liek what I wanted to do....
I once had Druid that could Tank and PvP. NO I AM SERIOUS!
