Here's a question: Will you be able to get PVP gear with only honor and battleground marks? No big deal if we can't, I know the Arena's been a big focus for a long time. I just want to know if I need to bother grinding out marks and honor for gear or if I can just enjoy myself without worrying about it.

It seems like the answer to this is no. I may stop playing. Only started a few months back and fell in love with battlegrounds, but hated arenas. Oh well.

Can someone tell me how many arena points you get for losing every game? My teams name is going to be Cannon Fodder.

I much prefer BGs to arenas, though, so I can't say I much like the idea of having basic pvp gear cost arena points

You will now notice that there is nothing that can be purchased with honor without either arena ratings or points. Even the hateful offset pieces have a PR requirement now.

EDIT: As we know now after the patch, the Savage gear is available from several vendors for different combinations of prices. Honor-only from some, honor + arena from another, emblems of heroism from another. Also, Hateful offsets do not necessarily have arena requirements.

While we're at it, wtf are wintergrasp marks of honor for.

PvP Battlegrounds were one of the only things that kept my intrest in Wow when I hit the level cap before, with this Arena change I doubt Wow will be able too keep my intrest after that and other MMO"s will start calling. Good luck blizzard and I hope this is the decision thats best for your game but in the end I dont think it will the best for me.

Constructive Critisism: When Everquest 2 came out one of its huge failings and why it fell flat on it's face quickly was the game forced players too group or you could not do anything. They have learned from that bad decision but have never fully recovered. Warcraft on the other hand gained a reputation for being your game, and you could group if you wanted too or play solo if that was your thing. With this move Warcraft has moved into dangerous territory and told players if you want too PvE you must group, if you want too PvP, you must group. This approach is the wrong one and may be the one that ends warcrafts continued player growth and be the reason for a slow gradual fall. Im hoping it is not but I can easily see this as being Blizzards first huge mistake in MMOs much like Star Wars Galaxies did when they changed their combat system or when Everquest 2 at release wanted a more hardcore game.
