Add the following to one of the lower-tier resto talents:
"...in addition, your spell hit rating is increased by an amount equal to 15% of your spirit"

This is about 5% spell hit for a heroic/Naxx10 geared druid (~1k spirit). Currently, a *feral* druid has more spell hit than a resto druid.

wtf? Put on kitty gear and go to town.

Seriously.

Why?

It's generally easier and better to stay in your healing gear and go DPS-Caster

most people on these forums believe every druid is specced 51/51/51

honestly, they have no motivation or incentive for learning how other classes work when forum QQ is very effective at nerfing hybrids.

If Feral + Healer =\= MS warrior + healer in arena ratings
then WoW =\= balanced PvP

had to read through that a couple times, so you're saying

people aren't complaining because it's "hybrid"

they're complaining baceasue it's a healer wanting to be able to fulfill more than just 1 role.

So what IS a "hybrid"?

I've noticed a lot QQ in this forum stems from people with heal buttons wanting to do more than just heal in PvP. They are flamed and told they should suck at all other PvP functions because they CAN heal.

I think the best way to attract more people to healing classes is to make them more fun and viable at more than just healing in PvP. Would people rather play alongside a rogue who's never gonna heal them or along side an enhance shaman who may throw out a heal if they like you?

I've started singling out anyone in the LookingForGroup channel who complains about a lack of healers and reminding them of all the cries for nerfs they direct towards hybrids.

I'm not sure the OP was even talking about PvP. I think he or she just wanted to be able to do a little more damage in a resto build, which doesn't seem unreasonable.

I find that I can generally do passable damage as a healing spec (of any class) trying to dps. Where I suffer is in utility. A resto druid trying to go up against a caster (even in PvE as in questing) can't do much to interrupt those heals. You generally just try and wait for them to go OOM.

i think the problem is hybrid classes complaining about their lack of DPs when they spec tank or resto... here is a thought, if you want more DPS, spec for DPS...

what do pure DPS classes do when they want to tank or heal? they reroll.. be thankful for what you have

Q u o t e:

You want ~5% hit in a resto tree attached to another talents?

I have to spend 6 points for 3% and its split down two trees.. and no matter how good my gear get it will always be 3% hit. and if i spec DEMO i need to put point in all three tress to get 3% hit

as for for feral druid comment why would he NOT have more hit then you? you don't need hit to heal.

It's ignorant remarks like this that cause people to not want to play healers. They're not there to healbot you 24/7. Healers need the ability to get quests done in a reasonably efficient manner. He's not asking to do the dps of a boomkin, just to not have so many resisted casts while doing his grind.

Try leveling or grinding quests as a healer some time then come back and make stupid comments.

Healing gear not healing specced. If you want dps talents use your dps tree, and if you wants dps stats wear dps gear.

Still, some people want to level as resto. That doesnt mean healers want to have huge dps too, but we want enough so we can solo stuff decently well. Personally, I think the high-ish tier talents that increase healing should increase damage too, so healers can kill quest mobs a little faster.
