Q u o t e:
Alright well what im about to share is probably something I shouldnt be, because of how ridiculously OP and helpful it is in raids....More then likley will get hot fixed, but I figured Ill share the knowledge so you can also have fun with it while it lasts.

Basically, if your doing 10 or 25 man raids currently, you will notice that when fighting a boss the doors close around you. No way out.

However, we have this handy new spell called circle of teleport...Guess what?

Place the circle in front of the door that closes. if the tank dies for any reason and then you now have aggro, teleport out, it will run to you and then reset the boss fight and no one else has to die.

Saves your repair bill... I have tried and done this many times and it is confirmed that it works.

Q u o t e:
For even more exploity goodness, you can use your circle to escape the vortex on Malygos and go back to DPSing.

If this isn't a bug, it's pretty nice and probably guarantees locks at least one raid spot.

We don't think it's a huge problem. I can't think of any encounters where this rises to the level of exploit. It may be convenient in how many people remain standing, but you're not really getting away with anything that you can't already do with a Soulstone.

It's a problem if warlocks feel like the "right way" to use circle is as wipe prevention, but we've seen some clever use of it in say Malygos and Obsidian Sanctum so I'm not sure that will happen a ton.

We'll keep an eye on it.

The only level 80 ability that doesn't damage, heal, or incapacitate finds a hackish use in a raid. Go warlocks!!! :/

It's been good for us so far with putting the Warlocks on the live side of Gothik to start and then when the dead side starts getting overwhelmed they port over and help out over there.

Please don't take that away. People go to the symbol on my head for the next spark.

I don't really see it as an exploit, at least I haven't used it in any way that breaks an encounter. For example, should the tank die on the final boss in Azjol-Nerub, I can teleport out and reset the boss when he's aggroed on me. I didn't suddenly win, I just made recovery faster than having to run back because everyone died.

If you do anything to Demonic Circle, please just make it at as good as its stun breaking, root removing, half the cooldown cousin Blink.

Wow someone found a use for it! Go go wipe prevention.

I am sure we haven't seen the more creative uses of this spell yet.

If you can get to the unreachable spot to drop a demonic circle, it isn't very unreachable is it?

Yes, my level 80 ability is "what I already had, but on a stick!!!!!". Go locks :)

Another issue with Demonic Circle that really bugs me is the fact that after placing it down the teleport ability does not seem to range into account for highlight that it's okay to use. I.E. you can't look at your cast bars to tell if you're in -or- out of range. You just click it and it gives you an error "out of range" is this just me and/or my macro?

If it's base line... it would be really nice to get fixed.

Of course not.

But you realize that there may be certain terrain anomalies that can be exploited to solo bosses with demonic circle, right?

Haven't found any yet, but have you seen how many heroic achievements are easy to cheese with a mage using Invisibility?

You know as well as I know that warlocks are an evil devious group! We'll take whatever we can get and then make it work for us that little bit more. Hell, SL/SL and SB specs are a perfect example of that.

We'll always find ways to keep our developers on their toes.......not because we have a vendetta against them, but because it's fun to do stuff like that for some of us :) This bug is a lifesaver, time-saver, and all around gropu friendly. You also have to assume that the lock lives long enough after agro to get to the teleport zone :)

Simple. There were some before that could be done simply by jumping over objects.

You put demonic circle on a rise in terrain that a mob has to path around to reach a ramp or something and go pew pew. When the mob reaches you, you jump down, and pew pew him some more while he goes back the way he came, down the ramp, and towards you. Then when he reaches you, you teleport back up.

Only requirement is that the path the mob has to take is long enough for the cooldown to reset.

It's just that someone has to do some experimentation with it to find any of these. Who knows, maybe blizzard designed dungeon terrain well this time around.

I'm assuming you mean places where the boss can't reach you due to terrain anomalies? Don't mobs start evading if they can't hit you?

Probably so. Can you remind me how to reach these unreachable places, so I can put my circle there?

Honestly it seems like any use of Demonic Teleport is either useless, borderline exploitive, or out and out exploitive.

Not true. I have found it to be a very reliable way to put "You can't do that when stunned" in red text on my screen.

No, terrain anomalies where mobs take a ridiculously long path due to their AI just to whack you.
