WoW Economy - Making Gold in WOTLK

Now that everyone is in leveling mode the whole WoW Economy has changed. With the release of new "buffs" to professions, players will be power leveling various tradeskills in order to achieve those benefits, which gatherers will profit from highly.

Go here to read a whole article on the state of the WoW Economy and how you can profit from it:

1. Get 425-450 mining
2. Get an epic flyer
3. Go to sholazar basin
4. ??????
5. Profit

My record was around 500g worth of mining mats in around half an hour... although I think I got kind of lucky with the amount of titanium I was getting.

Here's a question for ya
I'm a tankadin, which means high repairs and low income. I don't have an epic flyer, I'm about 2k short of training. I'd like to get one, but those spawns are being ferociously being farmed by people with epic flyers, mostly pvp spec'd. How do I make money with these sorts of circumstances?

When polymorphing, make sure to NOT count the sheep. Sleeping on the job is never good.
Need help powerleveling? Go to my guide:

Go mining in wintergrasp. If you have an epic riding mount, but no epic flyer, thats the best place for you. In wintergrasp you cant fly, and only saronite and titanium nodes spawn. Most the epic flyers go to sholazar to mine, and that leaves wintergrasp to the ground pounders.

I suggest Wintergrasp as well. I spent most of a day farming ore there, which only are saronite and titanium, and came out with nearly 2k gold. and thats just my realms AH. idk how yours is. but you also have the advantage with crusader aura. only problem is the open battlefield really.

To be able to do this you must be at level cap. 70 without wotlk xpac or 80. This guide has been made by a level 70 without xpac. So you can apply this method to northrend and prolly double what I make.

-First off I can't stress enough. Do your dailies, do your dailes, DO YOUR DAILES!
Pick about 10 that is all near each other and offers a 65%+ drop rate on gathering quests.
Do these same dailes everyday to maximize your gold per hour since you know where and how to do them.

-Picking 2 gathering proffesions is the best advise I can give you.
Forgot about gathering mats for yourself. Gather them while you farm and put them on the ah at the end of your session.
Gathering professions offer 100% profit.

When at level cap do all the old quests since instead of rewarding xp they give more gold.
Try to stay away from low drop rate quests if possiable.
When in a new questing giving area. Pick up ALL the quests so you can leave for a couple hours and come back to lots of turn ins.
And if I may recommend the best addon; Questhelper. After getting this addon my gold making has increased dramatically due not having to alt out to find the cords.. Quest helper pin points everything you need on the map.

Also a minor recomandation I may add i just started doing. If you have multiple high level toons. Make a bank alt.
With this toon you can just go to the nearest mailbox and mail off all the ah-worthy items to it and not have to worry about filling up your bags with good stuff that will sell on the ah.
At the end of the day you hop on bank alt grab all the mail and post it all the ah.
This avoids multiple visits to the ah that is slowing down your gold per hour.

Lastly...let me say this again. Do your dailies, do your dailies, do your dailies.

Please comment how this goes for you and happy farming!

That's a bit of a problem for me as I've already gotten WotLK. I have noticed, mostly from AH prices that there seem to be a lot of people with more money than sense and they seem to be pretty sensible too.

I also have a significant problem with getting money as, being a Jewelcrafter, I need a almost all the ore that I can get. I know that doing dailies is what many people recommend but I prefer to lvl a profession as I level.

I first made most of my money with my priest when I got him to 70, and he was herb/alch and I went Potions spec Alch, and that is what made me get a lot of money. But when I made my second char, I went mining/JC, and that sucked up all the money I had saved. On my Mining char, I farmed ore in Winterspring, actually. It is a lower level item, but Thorium sells for a lot. If you have an epic mount, and a slow fall, or a bubble, you can ride around the edge of the big cliff, and go inside as you please farming Thorium, which is easy at 70/80 because no one aggroes you :D

But I really want to go to Wintergraps and farm ore there. I know that I am going to get ganked a lot, but there is always a price for making gold :p

If you are an Herbalist, and not worried about Northrend farming, because I haven't really done any yet, then farm Netherbloom and Nightmare Vines! They sell for bundles in the AH.

Hope this helps some people.

"Dailies" are a shorthand for "Daily quests", which are quests which you can repeat once a day. You go in, do the quest, then come back the next day and do the same quest. They're considered a regular source of income in the game at this point, and if someone comes to the forums indicating they're having a rough time making money, and other posters find out the person isn't doing dailies, chaos results.

Most dailies are pretty easy once you figure them out, and rarely take much time. I'm doing Wyrmrest Accord dailies right now because I want the red dragon mount, which requires Exalted reputation with WA. I can do all three dailies for WA in about 15-20 minutes. Each daily also nets gold.

You can do 25 dailies a day. There are also daily dungeons (which reward you with tokens which give 250 rep apiece with the Northrend faction of your choice; find the quest givers at the Mages outside of Violet Hold in Dalaran) and daily Heroic dungeons (again, they give the tokens, and you're also farming rep by wearing the tabard of the faction you want rep with; you get rep for each kill, more for bosses obviously).

Do dailies, do flying runs for saronite throughout Sholazar Basin (I typically do enough to gather 2 full stacks of saronite bars), put 'em up on the AH, and the money flows in pretty quickly. You can also then auction off random drops that people might want (and as noted above, Death Knight drops are pure money; the shiny hasn't worn off the class quite yet, so there are still tons of Death Knights running around; about the only place you don't find many at this point is outside of cities in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms; Outland and Northrend, as well as all the capitol cities, are crawling with Death Knights).

Intelligence: my anti-person.

Yes and Yes. They will appear as BLUE exclamation points over the quest giver (unless said quest giver has a normal quest as well). You also need to be 70 before you start seeing them.

If you are unsure if the quest you have is a daily or not, your quest log will tell you. You can only do 25 dailies a day. Which I've only done once and will never do again.

Edit: Exceptions to the 70 only comment. I believe you have access to the PvP dailies sooner. Capturing the towers in HFP, Terrokar Forest, BG Daily.
