I see a lot of posts about 361 being the fury cap for specials and 294 being the arms cap for specials. This isn't true guys!

For whatever reason, bosses only require 8% hit on specials/2h/one hand + shield now. This is very easy to test. Get 8% hit and go beat on the heroic training dummy for a while. You will not see any misses. I did a test with 5.5% expertise (with the expertise cap being 6.5%) and 8% hit on a dummy for about 3 hours (most of it was afk auto attacking). I saw plenty of dodges in that time, but not one miss at all. This is over 10000 attacks.

The fury special cap would basically be 328, and arms/prot special and white cap would be 262.

My guess this has changed from tbc is because of
A) An oversight of Blizzard when they took off the casters 1% hit that could never be attained
B) Bosses only count as level 82 mobs now, since they can't crush anymore?
C) Intended change for w/e reason

I know full well that 9% used to be the hit rating, but i'm not kidding. 8% is the new hit rating now. A hunter on EJ has fired over 10000 shots and gotten the same results as me.

and no, this is not with the draenei aura. You would only need 7% with the draenei aura.

Then why am I still seeing misses at 8% hit?

anyone help me out and test this? I don't mind being called wrong, since I personally would love to see other results instead of looking at my own. However, this is a pretty important thing to know for the DPS community, so I would appreciate it if someone else could test this.

Because fury requires 13% hit to be capped? I was saying that fury doesn't require 361 hit if this is true (which is 14%), they only require 328 (which is 13%)

I wasn't doing the test as fury...

No matter how large the sample size was, he could've just gotten lucky.

Ty, like I said, i'm not here to show that i'm some master that discovered some unknown secret. All of us can agree this is a pretty important thing to know for min/maxing as a DPS. Instead of seeing people say "NO ITS 9%" just because it was 9% pre-wrath, I rather have some people testing on the dummy and proving 8% is wrong.

He has a talent that increases his hit by 3%, so he was at 8.03% hit. Needless to say, he was also on the boss dummy.

Don't get me wrong, I'd certainly like it to be 1% lower, but I'm still seeing misses on actual raid bosses (not dummies) at 8+ %. I'll try to SS when I get a chance.

If it's just a bug with dummies, then oh well. However, i'm also hoping 8% is true since that means my options for min/maxing my gear becomes a whole lot better.

I will also test on the next reset, since i'm saved to everything now, and I was running 9% hit for the raids I did.
