I understand the purpose of the Violet Hold door staying locked is to prevent people zerging the instance from the graveyard, but when you are out of combat it needs to be possible to open it. If you are in a group and the one rezzer dies during a boss fight and you kill the boss, you should not be forced to restart the instance from scratch because they can't open the door between the time that the boss dies and the next wave spawns. If you have a group with hybrids in it (and therefore more than one rezzer) there is nothing stopping you from just rezzing the healer and getting back to business, so why should groups without hybrids be penalized unfairly? Please just change it so the door is possible to open between waves, or at least between the boss wave and the trash waves.

put a lever on the outside of the door that will not open the door if any players inside are in combat. DONE

I need Salv when I'm tanking to offset my crazy DPS.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear you guys are looking into it, nothing more boring than reclearing 12 waves because your healer died right as you killed the 2nd boss.

Just raise the door area up 5 yards, then once the encounter starts, the stairs go away, then have the door unlock. You can't jump up, you can only fall down.

how would the adds get to the seal to weaken it?

aye /signed, this happened to us the other day... forced to take a wipe and restart.

suggestion on fix, make it similar to a raid instance so people cant zerg it.. boss or w/e in combat = cant zone in. or move the zoneline up 5 yards.

Yeah in my group I was the only healer/rezer. Got killed to the void boss and had to start again at scratch.

I like the concept of having a lock down but maybe have a switch at the other side for people who got killed can come back in but keep the mobs still out.

Starting it again really isn't a problem at the first boss but if you are near the end and get killed and the your the only healer/rezer....your group is basically screwed.

In a raid, you can't zone in during a boss encounter. Give the boss mobs in the instance the same flag.

Problem is, the zone-in portal places people in the small hallway before the door, so they still would be locked out.

I'm not sure what can be hotfixed or not, but maybe change the zone in location for the instance to be after the door.

Either that or spawn a portal that takes the players to the other side of the door. Make it spawn when the door closes and despawn when the door opens.

You should have a summoning stone or something to act as a penalty for deaths.

It would be right next to the door and take less time for how many people are using it, so if 4 die you better hurry.

The other day I replaced a fail healer in a heroic VH. While reclearing the waves, specifically the generic spawn that had replaced Icheron, out of no where Icheron spawned enraged, one-shotted our tank (who also had the other mob on him, enraged) and proceeded to drop another badge (but not another piece of loot) when we killed her.

It was super weird.

How about ...
When the group is out of combat, they can use a "OMFG GET HERE NOW" stone that requires 3 people to channel it, and instantly ports everyone in the instance on top of it when used?

Why not have that mage lady who you talk to for the event to start wait behind he door? So if you get locked out on mistake or die and run back shes there and you talk to her and she ports you to the other side of the door.

Why not just have the door open after bosses die and then close again ten seconds before the next portal opens? Allows characters to reenter after bosses while not zerging, and doesn't cause any other problems that I can think of.

If Blizzard feels like you should be allowed to run in between portals the door could open for 5 or so seconds between portals, just long enough to let an attentive player run in.

Simple fix for ya...

Leave the chick that starts the event outside the door, ask her to teleport you back inside the event arena.

You're linking commercial blizzard property via a torrent, on their own forums.

This doesnt break just the ToS or CoC, it breaks your entire account.
