  • 0. Racial: Command, Why not Shaman?   11/19/2008 11:32:26 AM PST
quote reply
This is posted in the Damage Dealing as this pertains mainly to Spirit Wolves as they are a summable combat pet that are under the control of the Shaman, albeit with a time limit, but never the less they are commanded by the Shaman. This would provide a minor increase overall in damage for this ability and rightfully so as we chose Orc in the first place.
    Command
    Racial Passive
Damage dealt by Death Knight, Hunter and Warlock pets increased by 5%.

So why is it that Shaman are left out of this racial trait? Shaman were one of the staples of the Orc race, and yet Shaman don't gain the benefits of one of their racial abilities which seems very odd.

Shaman should be allowed this benefit too, as many of us who play Orc feel it should be. Its simply not fair to hand pick which classes get certain racial abilities and which don't. The devs gave us Spirit Wolves as apart of our 51 point talent, we love it and thank you, but allow those of us who chose Orc to gain the racial benefit that should rightfully be ours.

Thanks Ghostcrawler, much appreciated!

Just an oversight I'm sure. We have no problem doing this.

The tone of GC's posts today suggest a very 'can do' spirit.

"Command" is an Orc racial so how would that apply to Tauren, Troll or Draenai Shaman?\

Edited to add

Thank you GC!

We had debated this a bit in one of the EJ threads and I argued from the position that it was probably an oversight and I am very happy to have that validated. It's nice to be right every now and then, even if it is rare.

One race gets buffed for a certain class (fixed in this case) and I'm sure every other race of that class is feeling a mite of jealousy.

I'm assuming totems were/are considered as pets at one point? Just a thought on the oversight.....

probably more because shamans never had pets before. In BC it just said hunter and warlock pets.

If it affects shaman pets, shouldn't it also affect DK pets

because hunters locks and DKs can have constant pets.

until spirit wolves are a constant part of your DPS, the tooltip will remain teh same.

DK pets aren't constant unless you spec for them.
