Well me being a grinder, loved to grind when BC came out. I did not do many quests, and i don't plan to. We all know that everyone will be on November 13th, we also know that it will be the day waiting in line to do quests and ganking.

Netherstorm and SmV i have done about 3 quests in. I would like to level there for a few levels 71-72 ish. Maybe get like 10 quests done this weekend and then the other 15 Novemeber 13th. This would save me a lag fest and a wait. I know i was stupid for not ever doing these quests but im guessing these areas will be near deserted.

Can i prequest some of these? Any blue post showing it is? I would not like to deal w/ the lag. It would be nice if i can do 10 quests this weekend so i am not behind. I am to busy to do the grind November 13-20th. I will be packed and know when i log on then 21st everyone will be 77+. I would love to have some kind of safty blanket by doing some prequests. Just so i get SMV done and Netherstorm.

Will i get exp for these quests if i do them before exp and turn them in on Nov 13th or no?

I didn't do it in BC, I would like a Blue to confirm. i don't want to waste my time doing the quests if im not going to get exp for em if i can just do em the 13th.

Don't see why you need a blue post to answer the obvious question.

If your account is at its XP cap, you don't get XP. If your account is not at its XP cap, you can get XP.

Remember, it is YOUR ACCOUNT, not just the servers; if you haven't put in your WotLK upgrade key, you can't gain XP at 70.

What do you need a blue for? You turn in a quest, you get XP, unless you're at level cap, then it's converted to gold.

If you really want a blue response, try the customer service forum (or player responses that know almost as much as GMs)
But you don't really need one, you should get exp.

I think you are answering the wrong question. By "do" he means "complete the objectives".

So, let's say I have ten quests in my log. And I go complete them; I have my eight felfire spleens in my bags (along with whatever drops off those blasted orphans). But I don't go talk to the guys with the big yellow ?.

Then, on the 13th, Gamestop screws me.

But on the *14th*, I get my WotLK CD key, I upgrade my account, I log in... and I go talk to the guy who looks like he's an information desk, and I hand him my felfire spleens.

I'd assume I'd get XP, because the XP-or-gold determination is made at hand-in, not while performing the task.

Actually I believe his question was "If I complete the requisites for so quest (like kill 10 Nether rays or something), but wait to turn the quest in after I have the expansion installed, will it still be worth exp?"

Almost every quest in Howling Fjord gives 20k xp.

Almost every quest in Shadowmoon Valley gives 12k xp.

You're not going to be ahead of anyone.

Wait, really? I thought with TBC there was a mechanism in place specifically to prevent a player from completing (but not turning in) 25 quests and then when the expansion comes out, turning all of those in and hitting 71 through that.

Is this changed?

And on that note, how exactly does it determine how you can level with older quests? I assume I could level to 61 in Azeroth, right? What about with WotLK? When the expansion comes out, could someone do a bunch of quests in Netherstorm and hit 71 there?

(I know it's not optimal, I'm just trying to get clarification on the mechanic)

Experience inflation. Sure you COULD, but those 25 quests would amount to maybe six total in the starting zone in Wrath.

It's not worth your time.

quests in northrend give ~20k xp, quests in outland give~10k xp , and its about 1.5 million xp a level.. wouldnt be that great to do 25 quests in outland

250,000 free exp that only takes 5 minutes to get sounds worth it imo.

Considering the lag accompanied by over nine thousand people entering the two starting zones, as well as the competition for quest objectives, it might actually be faster 70-72 levelling in the old endgame zones.

On that note, Zarhym, will we get exp for level 70 daily quests upon getting WOTLK, like you can get exp for the repeatable battleground daily quests before hitting level 70?
