Once you get your 4 Blue/Purple pieces on your toon, every trinket, tabard, oil, etc... there is no more point to continue to fight the scourge. It turns into mindless grinding.

4 purples that have absolutely no use whatsoever to me. Lets see drop a huge chunk of my #1 DPS stat (SBV in my case lol) for a 4% increase in damage and some haste; which is almost as useful as AP to a tank.

Never run from anything immortal; It only attracts their attention.

it's been too long already.
the people farming stones for AD stuff are pretty much done.
no one really cares.
i mean, i was really looking forward to something starting and getting worse, but right now it would take a hell of a lot for it to be exciting and bring it up from mellow.
im pretty sure if arthas started screaming in org right now thered be a lot of
"what's he doing here? i thought this was over? um...random?"
and
"O GOD I THOUGHT WE WERE DONE WITH THE BELL HAS TOLLED"

Pvp encourages imbalance. Encouraging/Forcing arena only does further, and ruins the game. Make a new system, create a new game, and get rid of pvp.

Oh so you want the zombies back already? /noted

Haha, I know it was a joke, but if those come back anytime soon, I can and will cancel my account XD

My sister may want me to play WoW and not FFXI, (hence her paying for WoW <_<) But I'd rather play no game than a game that forces me to die over and over wasting hours of my time :P

Something you missed in the brochure is that, ultimately, all of it is a waste of time. You can't take any of it with you when you go somewhere else, or die.

Of course, that's the whole point of pasttimes...to pass the time.

They may not be useful to you, but to others they can be.

For those who did not have epic gear, this is a great opportunity to get some decent stuff to prep for WoTLK.

These epics were understandably lower in stats due to how easy it was to obtain these items. You could literally get all 4 pieces in 30 minutes.

I took advantage of these items on my alts. They were slight upgrades for them. :)

Bornakk, do you have any hints/ideas when we can expect to see the next phase?

Bringing back the Zombie Invasion would make no sense. The Zombies came and destroyed. The Living people found a cure for the Zombies, thus killing the Zombies. Now the Zombies have evolved (in a week) so that they are immune to the cure discovered? Not likely.

No hints at anything. The cure for the plague has been found, we'll see what happens next.

Cool! Please, pray tell, how did you do this? Please give us enough details so that we can do the same thing! :-)

That is a positive reasurance at least. I think most of us, despite Neth hinting there may be more supprises, were getting worried we had already reached and passed the cool points of the launch event.

Why bother, the one time event is over. Should another event like it ever come though, here's some suggestions. AZEROTH IS HUGE! There's more than one or two zones you could quest in and often times the ones you may not like to quest in are the ones that most people don't like to go to so it would be less likely that there were any zombies (or whatever) in that location. And should you come across in your travels a pack of wondering, mindless creatures such as zombies that appear to be much higher level or greatly out number you, don't go near them.

Even though these tips would enable you to survive and level a low level character, they cannot make you like a one time short event if you are so against it to begin with. Personally, a 1 week delay to auctions doesn't bother me, and there are enough banks all over the game that bankers in one city being dead doesn't bother me (especially when players of the opposite faction can and already do kill these npc's).

Outrunning isn't necessarily an option if one does not have a firm grasp on the aggro radius of a level 60 (or higher) zombie versus a character 1/3 of the level. Even worse is when a character just starting out in their starting zone finds it overrun by zombies, and the lowbie gets one-shotted before they move.

Questing in other zones is great, provided you're in a position to get to those zones or benefit from going there (e.g. running around in the state of STV as a 20 is probably not going to work out).

In the regular machinations of the game, I have *yet* to see horde members actually *make* it to the bank in SW / IF / Darn to cut even one of the bankers down, much less the whole lot of them. However, in the case of the zombie event, that was the first time that I saw where this has occurred.

Finally, I am against "one-time short events" where it is clear that they were not properly QA'ed or beta-tested before being released to the general public. In the case of the zombie event, it could have been a fun event, but the way it was designed and played ensured that any benefit gained was far exceeded by the lag, problems, and lost customers it caused.
