Soloing is NOT that hard as a Holy Paladin. At least you're the kind of person who uses Holy Shock once in a blue moon, you shouldn't have problems.

At least until level 74 (that's where I stopped leveling in beta).

Seal of Righteousness + Judgement of Wisdom + Holy Shock everytime it's available + Consecration if more than 1 mob + Retribution Aura = Faster soloing than pre 3.0.2

I admit, doing my dailies was a pain before the patch but with the new tools it's easier, the reduced cooldown of HS helps a lot and popping DF and trinkets every now and then helps a lot. I never go below 90% mana even if I keep healing myself when I pull 12+ mobs (gotta love those dudes in Shadowmoon Valley).

My spec is 51/0/10 with the talent to reduce the cooldown of my judgement ability, Judgement of the Pure (for the haste <3) and Enlightened Judgements because I love to be able to pull mobs that fly (that daily in Netherwing Ledge was never SO easy).

Heart of the Crusader helps a lot too and I put one point in Blessed Life just because... >_>

In the end I can tell you this.

Killing a level 71 mob in Outland took at most 12 seconds (I never got to use Holy Shock 3 times), I had no downtime at all even while soloing mobs like Zuluhed, a Fel Reaver and Harold Lane, I was never below 70% mana while soloing an elite).

Tossing a Flash of Light when I was at 60% health was way faster than eating or bandaging (yay for having healing spells) and of course, I find a lot of groups (in both Beta and live) as a healer.

Oh, and those who say "Spec Ret and heal that", I have yet to see someone who specs ret and really heals a group. In my own experience, most of them (enhancement shamans, feral and balance druids too), prefer to do what they're specced for.

Hey look, a child. And one who hasn't played beta at that. Mana burn is terrible wotlk btw due to poor scaling, you should thank the priest for mana burning you since it will just make them oom themselves faster.

Again - yes holy paladins have terrible damage output, don't forget that blizzard said that they are going to address this in an upcoming build. Regardless - this is not everything, what you gain in other areas is strong enough to compensate for the damage disparity, especially since the damage output of dps classes in wotlk is so extraordinary in comparison to healing output that healers are not really even able to afford to dps on beta.

Ok first off for years Blizz has said they are going to fix Holy Pally, and every time they do, we get a wild nutty fix that is anything but what we need. The first Beacon was what we needed, now look what we get.

Look at this way, the guys at Blizz do not level from 1 to 80, they fire up a superman made in 3 minutes and play it and say hey this is fine why are you complaining.

But you guys aren't going to be bad

If they just now announced all of the changes for the first time based upon how you will be after these nerfs, you guys would be praising them for finally addressing so many of your concerns.

But now since it comes with a "nerf" title it's like it doesn't matter what the ultimate outcome is, peoples primary concern is just that they got nerfed - regardless of the fact that it was inevitable and that you'll still be good in the end.

And yes, priests are god awful in pvp. Priest healing is all but dead in pvp, while it thrives in pve.

Yes healers will always level slower than a class specced for DPS, but why must holy paladins do 2-3 times less dps than other healers? Why must holy paladins suffer because of ret?

I did some dps tests last night. I took some screenshots but have yet to sit down and prepare a spreadsheet for my discoveries.

I compared my 917 spellpower resto shaman damage to the damage of my holy priest and holy paladin. I took enough gear off on the later two to make the priest also have 917 and the paladin have 920.

The priest did the most damage, followed by the shaman, followed by the paladin. I probably could have boosted the shaman a little but I was a retard and wasn't keeping up anything like flameshock between lighting spam.

Going from 920 to full spellpower on the paladin only increased his sustained dps by 3.

Come on GC log on beta as a holy paladin and go fight a monster, 345 damage judgements? 134 consecration? our only current damage tool that is not affected by the huge ap/sp change is holy shock, which is also meant to be a heal.

Will we get our fixes before wrath launch?

Can you guys at least keep it civil? We aren't going to get blue feedback if everything on this forum is outright complaining without anything constructive included.

Priests should be doing the most damage of any healer, but Holy Paladin DPS is just painfully low, especially since you give up a healing cooldown to use what accounts to 95% of your damage capability.
