I finished this quest last night. I think the secret is to do the same daily quest first. Example:

Doing the fishing quest 1 for the next five days..before doing the rest of the dailys. That seem to work just fine for me. Good luck.

I am actually failing to get this achievement without doing any instances or battlegrounds. In fact while trying to complete this all i had done for the last week was dailys. I would do them on 1 character, log off, then do them on another. Perhaps it resets when different characters on the same account complete dailys as well.

If brute force isn't working, then your obviously not using enough.

Q u o t e:
There is currently an issue with "A Simple Re-Quest". The achievement has a bug that will sometimes cause it to reset if you enter a Cross-Realm Battleground. We have a fix in place for this that will go live with patch 3.0.3 (soon). In the meantime, if you absolutely want this achievement, the best thing to do is to not enter a BG while working on it.

Many apologies.

I havnt pvped and still havnt gotten it

Thanks for the info!

It's good to know I'm not crazy, well, that may not be true, I guess I am a bit crazy but well....

So anyways, When soon(tm) happens I'll finally be able to finish this achievement!

Oh lol, I was doing the Battleground Daily for this Achievement, how ironic.

Good to clear that up. Thought it was an issue with the clocks or something lie that.

I haven't done any BGs, arenas or instances, and yesterday, my counter was at 4/5. I logged in quickly today to try and complete this one (I don't usually play too much on Sundays) and noticed that I was back down to 3/5. I thought it was extremely weird that it didn't reset, but only dropped by one?

Anyway, after I did the fishing daily, I am not back up to 4/5. Hopefully I'll be able to finish this one tomorrow.

Aha! No no, its fine you found it, will fix it RSN, and tell us about it - if only you could do the same with the missing rain sounds all over the world everything would be spiffing.

After doing the Headless Horseman summon daily every day for the past 2 weeks, on 4 different characters I can conclude that the resets of the consecutive daily count resets from A) The Headless Horseman Quest, or B) Joining a raid.

I duo'd the Headless Horseman on my Warrior with my druid on a second account, so to prevent leaving the group when logging out to long on my alts - I converted to raid.

The only achievements I had completed on my alt whom only did 1 daily quest a day was the "5 Daily Quests Complete" - first tier of the daily quests achievement (5, 50, 200, 500, 1000 complete)

Of the 4 characters I used to summon the headless horseman; 0 of them have the achievement complete for completing 5 daily quests in a row.

I noticed this as well, with the Horsemen summon. I hadn't done it in a few days, and my achievement had gone correctly, 3/5 days. Did the HH summon, and the following day I noticed I was back to 1/5. I thought I was going loopy, spent a good few minutes cussing out my pc lol. Least I was compensated for the reset in days, I managed to win the HH's mount =)

I've avoided bgs like the plague since 3.0, and it still resets for me.

Ditto, I don't pvp at all (though I went in one day for the Gnerds achievement), yet despite doing at least one daily everyday since the achievments came out, I haven't gotten more than 3, and once 4, dailys strung together.

The 24-hour hard timer is definitely a factor from my experiences, but there are other factors involved in having the counter reset as well. For example, one morning I did my first daily at 6:30am, no problems, watched it go from 3/5 to 4/5. I then set out to collect candy buckets for the achievement, and sometime between 6:30am and 8:30am, having never entered a battleground or instance, it went from 4/5 to 0/5. I was livid. Worst of all, no dailies I did from 8:30am until the next daily reset at 4am would bring me to 1/5 that day either! I was stuck at 0/5 with no way to get it to 1 for about 20 hours. Fun stuff.

As an update, there seem to be additional bugs with this particular achievement. 3.0.3 fixes some but not all. We'll continue to research a fix. Apologies once again.

Weirdness with daily turnover has been a bug since... well, as longer than I care to recall with 2.0. It's usually only 'visible' to folks who play US realms late at night, on non PDT servers. I can't recall if it hits Oceanic servers as well. Given that the Consortium Bag of Gems quest still isn't tied to server time in 3.0.2 I would not be surprised if dailies continue to be broken in this manner going forward. It took Blizzard over 12 months to fix a simple timezone issues with Oceanic realms. I wouldn't hold my breath on daily craziness to abate any time soon.

The advice from the GM department (after denying there was an issue for several weeks) was basically 'stay away from doing any daily handins from the official rollover time minus your local offset from PDT/PST, to the official rollover time plus your local offset from PDT/PST. From my understanding, that basically means that to be sure to have things work properly, you only have 18-20 hours to do your once every 24 hour quests correctly. Whether this is related, who knows, but it's been NOTABUGAFEATURE for some time.

Blizzard's official response to all of Oceanic player's concerns:

I hate to say it but there is more to it then BG's

I did dailies 5 days in a row and it always resets on day 3 or 4 and that is even if I dont go into BG's

I think it more has to do with the time you are online more then where you are, I find that if I am online when the dailies resets so does A Simple Re-Quest but that normally only happens on day 3 or 4 still.

I have not been in BG's in a week and it still resets so I know there has to be more to it then that.

Just pointing that out is all. Nothing more nothing less.

As long as it's being looked at, it would be nice if you had any idea of which daily it was counting. For those of us who do masses of them every day, it gets a little tedious to track which one might be counted. I was told that fishing and cooking don't count, but even given that any credence, I still have over and over watched it go from 4/5 to 1/5. At least now I know that part is bugged...
