Aye, the warlock trees have lots of problems.

Deep affl just adds to the problems affliction has had, while providing none of the solutions we need.(Staring at DoT timers and missing raid warnings because of how hard the rotation is, being hard countered by any class with anything remotely looking like a HoT, as well as soft counter by melee and mage armor).

Demonology is just far too many passives, and is really underbudget. And unless you have obscene amounts of +dmg, Demonic Pact is a waste of points. Demonic empathy is also a waste of points. There's far too much trashy/obviously useless talents in here. Also, being based on crits for many deep demo talents makes 20+ of the points I put into the tree useless in PvP. The Felguard usually does LESS DPS than the Imp, and dies easier because it goes into melee, and all the pets need better scaling. And a BM hunter's pet out-DPS's mine by almost 2x or more.(Hunters are almost ALWAYS on the top of the meters even before sunwell gear now, unless we have a very good warrior/rogue in the raid)
Meta is pretty decent in PvE, as a trinket to be used on every cooldown, and with Heroism, but in PvP, being CC'd into the floor while my team gets pounded just because I hit it to survive the rogue I just saw before the stunlock is BS. Also, we still get trained by everyone. This is literal, not figurative. I'm the main target of every single person on the opposite team at the beginning of every arena fight(Or my pet is), even in the low brackets(Darn server instability dropping rating by gigantic amounts because of lost arena instances).

Destruction seems at odds with itself, and is probably the best example of how NOT to do talent synergy. There is no "shadow destro" anymore, and fire destro's rotation works against itself.(Conflag+backdraft providing a barely noticeable DPS increase for too much work(Around 2% for screwing up your rotation for ~15 seconds or more), other people eating your immolates with conflag) As well as the 51 pt talent being hardly better than a shadowbolt or incinerate, and the absorption "pierce" doesn't even work sometimes(Pakars's Chaos Bolt hits Lendi for 187 damage(2138 absorbed)) and is gimmicky in the first place. If you have a choice to cast a Chaos Bolt to kill someone that can shield like priests, they're likely healed over the damage it'd deal, and then you STILL have to kill their shield. Sorry, I'm sticking to Searing Pain or Immolate for sitting down and casting. At least it'd take down the bubble.

Also, an equally geared fury warrior SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DO 80% OF MY UNGODLY DIFFICULT AFFLICTION ROTATION WITH ONLY HIS AUTO SWINGS.(And yes, I'm VERY certain he was equally geared. T4/5, with some PvP gear, like me)

I'd post the WWS showing this in ZA, but I wasn't running it at the time. His crit rate was ~27%, and his white dps was ~1100.

Our rotations take too much effort, with too little reward... -.-

Also, to the people saying we're QQing with no reason, go roll a warlock and try the affliction tree's rotation, and compare it to ANY ROTATION OF ANY OTHER CLASS IN THE GAME. You will be having nightmares about DoT timers when you go to bed, and you'll see it overlayed over surfaces you look at after raids. It's that bad. The destro one is playable, though almost as bad as affliction is. Affliction used to be my favorite tree in the game, until 3.0.2 came around. Now I just do Demo or Destro for raids anymore.

I hope that we can get a Blue post as to if these issues are actual "Issue's" to Blizzard development team or is this actually intended? ..

The class just seems off in play style, I don't know how these specs are doing compared to other classes at level 80, I am concerned however from what I do see now compared to others at 70.

I have T5/T6 gear and S2/S3/4 Gear.. I do a fair share of PvP and PvE, on 5 Different level 70's and I'd have to say if it were not for my Gear, I'd suffer much more. A prime example is in ZA, in T5/T6 my damage was below a Ret paladin in S1/badge gear and THAT scares people.

My main problem is with the demo tree. It just seems to lack any clear sense of direction. In the lower tiers, its mostly pvp focused.

Improved stamina, better healthstones, soul link, fel dom, all the way up to demonic empowerment.

Then, you focus on a raid build, with crit based talents (which, as you should know are useless for PvP). And finally, at the end, you cap it off with meta, a pvp talent.

Please, Blizz, make up your minds! Unless you plan on changing resil, all of our new demo talents are useless for PvP but meta, and to get meta, we have to put points in either A: pve crit talents or B: The useless crap talents in the low tiers (Imp enslaved demon, improved succubus, etc...)

Also, as has been stated many times before, this tree is made up of passives! Add more FUN to this build!

Q u o t e:

Aren't you going to miss the Healthstones at the start of Battlegrounds mr. Rouge? cause I don't do battleground or pvp. And I am sure there are alot of other warlocks who will do the same.

Aren't you going to miss your non-stacking soulshards when you make me one?

Q u o t e:

And that contributes how?

My main is a warlock, I am a FOTM rogue, and the flavor is good.

I can't comment on every single point you made or I'll be here all night. I did read them though.

Q u o t e:
-Soul Shard system not even touched

I have said many, many times that this is something we're looking at right now. I am going to be less sympathetic to QQ that we don't read your posts if you don't read ours. :)

Q u o t e:
-Damage overall is too high, arenas feel "scrubfriendly" and even more luck-based

We think there is some truth to this. The recent resilience change was intended to help. We also expect health and mitigation to increase much faster than damage increases as players hit 80, but it is definitely a concern right now in PvP.

Q u o t e:
-Completely reliant on having 11 points in Demo, maybe 17 (or even more).
-Still looking to pigeon-holed into Demo.

This is not a major concern for us. As I have also posted, good talents are good. If you didn't want them, they would be bad talents. If you had so many good talents that you had a hard time deciding, I'm pretty certain the response would be that the trees are bloated.

Q u o t e:
-Shadowflame is a pathetic addition, it's as if they've run out of ideas and don't want to bother thinking of any good ones. We're already strong enoguh at AoE, damnit. I mean really if you want to give us dragon's breath from mages, just give us the green version and call it green dragons breath with all the same goodies of dragons breath.

Shadowflame fulfills a very specific role. If you hadn't noticed, we are pushing Destro more towards fire and Affliction more towards shadow. Shadowflame is one of the few spells that crosses over because it does both types of damage (which should have obvious ramifications for a lock).

Q u o t e:
-Teleport spell again pathetic (Can't used while stunned) I mean really Blizzard you give us a good Defensive spell after all this time and you do it half assed. I mean we actually have to set this spell up in order to use it. Tell you what make it so that Pallys have to cast a spell first before they can bubble, make it so Rogues have to do something before they can vanish/COS, make it so Mages have to cast a spell before doing ice block or blink.

We think Demonic Circle is going to end up being a big deal. It's not a trivial spell to use -- it's a thinking person's spell. It takes planning and some intuition. I suspect it is being underestimated because so few people have actually gotten to use it yet.

Q u o t e:
Affliction
-Complex PvE rotation is impossible to accomplish in PvP; you have to do far more work than before to do the same relative DPS as in BC - the spec is more reliant on spells with cast times.

We think the complex rotation is very hard to pull off in PvE too and seems to almost mandate a mod, which is a problem. We have some long-term plans to change Affliction around a little bit.

Q u o t e:
-Why did you add glaringly PvE-based talents and changes like Master Conjurer, Demonic Empathy, Demonic Pact, Imp. Demonic Tactics, and others when you expect this to be our PVP tree?

There are no PvP trees anymore. My comment was that Demo may not have the sustained dps of the other two trees in PvE, but at least it would still be taken for PvP. We need to see if the survivability offered by the tree offsets its lower dps or not. (And before anyone responds that you would raid with 10 health if it would improve your dps, I'll remind you that your dps when dead is 0.)

Q u o t e:
-Chaos Bolt: Could have fixed our problems with quick, reliable burst damage, but was ultimately changed into a "add this into your rotation for a few more DPS!" spell.

Destro's rotation was among the least interesting in the entire game. It needed major help.

I probably would have responded to more if you could have made more points without trying so hard to work an insult into half of your comments. Maybe a more thoughtful PvP warlock thread will rise up.

About Affliction's bloated rotation (which is the reason I'm Destruction right now):

I see a possible way to kill two birds with one stone. Affliction's been wanting an Affliction-based Shadow Bolt replacement for some time, and Haunt is part of what's messing with the rotation.

How about making Haunt a 2.5 second cast spell with no cooldown? It can replace Shadow Bolt completely.

Also, adding another DOT to Everlasting Affliction - doesn't really matter which one - would also go a long way towards curing overly-taxing rotations.

I'd like someone to say whether or not anyone plans on making Shadow Embrace a bit more attractive in PvP. I don't mean the debuff itself, just the requirements to stack it.
