In another post, someone made the off comment insinuating(sp?) that a Night Elf Rogue is somehow inferior to the other races.

Just wanted to know if this had actual basis in reality or if it's just someone's preference to Alliance races. Because more than one person agreed with him so I'm kind of concerned. I mean, extra 1% to dodge, extra stealthy-ness via Shadowmeld, a free resist, and higher base agility score? That seems pretty good to me, certainly not anywhere in the realm of gimp-tastic-ness-icity. So is there something I don't know about?

Cause I'd hate to do this when re-rolling would be a pain.

Nothing inferior, but there's too many of the dammed things. Kinda like Nelf Hunters.

Nothing wrong with them, except that everybody hates them and there are just so many of them. People (especially horde people) don't like nightelves in general, or gnomes. Sure, you get a few starting stats which, in the long run, really don't matter, but your ears bounce, you're purple and you do random flips. You just piss people off.

mostly, there's just a lot of them.

and the other alliance races have racial abilities that benefit a rogue more (stoneform, escape artist, +5 swords/maces)

Looking Cool > Escape artist
Looking Cool > Perception
Looking Cool > stone form

Well, these were the things I read and made me make this post:

Seems more specific to Night Elf + Rogue than it is to just general Night Elf hate :(

humans may have improved maces,swords ect skill but i don't wanna offend anyone but god there over built. Humans look fat and ugly and even worse in endgame, and night elf rogues are normal and there racial abalites own ,so thats why there is so many.My opinon is that night elf and undead rogues FTW

I just think they have the worst racials for rogue.

Sorry, we don't need Shadowmeld. Only need stealth. Yes there is that stealth bonus, but it's not THAT much. Just an extra penny I guess.

+1 dodge is also an extra penny, we have plenty of dodge.




What would be scarier? Orlando Bloom jumping at you from nowhere? Or a vicious 8 foot tall three fingered psycho with two big tusks?

NE's have:

+1% dodge (you can argue good or bad, situational) - mostly pvp buff [only place dodge is used in pve is dodging physical AoEs]

+5 Stealth levels (passive) - pvp buff

... also whisp form, which is useful I guess in world pvp if you can rez a few moments before your opponent, etc.

Shadowmeld.. most don't know the use of this as a rogue, but you know those moments when you're stuck waiting to restealth and you see that enemy riding up to you, and you really are going crazy because you're stuck in combat for no reason? this is where you shadowmeld, so that it'll possibly help you stay ooc long enough to enter normal stealth again.

in conclusion, NE's are a PvP based race.

you ever seen a female human rogue in full bloodfang or any other full set? a Nelf's appearance and coolness pale in comparison. WAY too many fruity purple flippin jibber jabbers runnin around.
but you know, now that i think about it, my opinion is biased. i'd prolly be sayin ther're too many undead rogues if i was horde. so eh, at least i'll stay sexy(especially when im layin into you with all 14 extra points in swords =P)

1+dodge, dnt really like on rogues, dodge sux more crit and parry ownz, think about it using evsaion against a warrior thats just stupid. well so ill just like to say night elf rogues are good they do have improved stealth ability, and it is quiet a difference i see, 1on1 in my rogue duals i seem to beat them evreyshot, and there lame excuse is "LAGG" but really they just know we own:P

you DO use evasion on warriors as long as you have the HP to survive an overpower. Eating a 1k overpower but dodging an otherwise lethal MS that follows it = win. It's not like they can spam Overpower either, it's a 5 sec cooldown. that should give you enough time to build up enough points to get your opponent into some good stunlock.
