Thephoenîx is one of the most talented ret paladin players in the world and it is sad to see him be pushed to the bottom of the DPS heap. There is also a lot of good discussion going on at the EJ forums regarding the recent ret changes. Most of them are pretty level headed people but even they are saying WTF right now.

Lot's of good discussion going on in this thread right now, to summarize:
* Statistically speaking the ret pally is within reach of the top but....
* He used dark runes to keep mana up
* He used mana pots (haste pots are more fun)
* His targets were undead.
* He used LoH on himself for mana regen.
* still using 2 T6 pieces for more SA mana regen.

You can see that Consecration is a big part of his dps cycle. It's very clear with the JoTW changes that Consecration is *not* something the devs are considering to be part of our dps cycle
Not only is his dps low overall (even using consecrate) but is using every trick in the book to keep is mana up to maintain a full cycle:

Indeed. With 1.3 million healing, 800k of that being Judgement of Light, he's a healing machine. He's lucky another paladin wasn't in the raid to put up his own JoL and get the credit for all that healing.

I looked at the parse some more and forgot that Nax is undead so another big chunk of rets dps is being lost against non-undead targets. Looks like wo/ consecrate and exorcism/holly wrath rets dps now will be about ~2000DPS compared to the other dps classes ~3000DPS

That WWS is actually NOT THAT BAD.
Seriously what it shows me is we need some minor buffs to offset the most recent nerf.
If the damage is buffed about 10% and the mana replenish is buffed about 5%, that seems about on.
Of course those are two very big IFS and hopefully they will make some changes.

EDIT : To further explain, if that pally is dpsing about 3% more of the time, and does about 10% more damage, he is cruising for the top 5. To be able to dps 3% more of the time his mana regen needs a slight tick upwards. With that change and some minor rebuffs to his damage, he is where ret should be.
