Not sure why you haven't picked up the memo yet, but they are not going to tell you, no matter how many times you ask.

Its all on deaf ears people. I really hate it, a lot of people really hate it. The ones that do not hate it are not even interested in the game content except from keeping others from experiencing it. The Devs OBVIOUSLY like griefing. That's all this "event" is about, griefing shadowed in "lore".

No personal offence, but GMs should just be eliminated altogether because they know nothing of any relevance or importance and can do even less. They are placed here for nothing else but to catch relevent concerns so the people that control the game don't have to be bothered by the concerns of the customers. Mal might insist that they are listening but we will surely see no proof of this. And even if they are I truely doubt the care in the slightest.

No post I have read has EVER given a difinitive answer to any concern or issue. Apparently conveying relevent, timely, complete and concise information to the paying customer is of no concern to Blizzard.

Use the post to vent if it helps, but don't expect ANYTHING from it because you will just be dissapointed. The developers knew what they were creating with this so-called "event" and knew exactly what would happen. Think about it, it happened at the most opportune time for them. People were unable to do anything because the game was broken. This event convienently allowed them to keep a great deal of us from even being able to interact and running into the underlying problems since the patch. No booted out of arenas, battlegrounds and instances because you can't even get there in the first place. Works out pretty nicely for them I think. They will have it end when they want it to because there is nothing stopping them from doing so, it was started on a server restart and could be stopped just the same.

There is no objective to be reached by the players in this event other than to disrupt the enjoyment of others and thats just how blizzard apparently likes it.

Q u o t e:
As I've mentioned before, the plague is a very short term event, and that your concerns, and those of all other players that have experienced the event, are being very closely monitored.

Malkorix:

Please pass on the news that some of your players just plain don't like PvP. Call it "fighting the Scourge" if you like, but if it's a player behind the zombie or friendly-faction character that's trying to kill you, it's PvP. One of the reasons I came to WoW - and chose to reside only on PvE servers - is that PvP was an entirely voluntary state of being; I've tried PvP in every MMORPG I've played, going back to AOL's Neverwinter Nights in the '90s and including WoW itself, and I really don't need to "try" it in a world event to know that I'm not going to like it.

I can certainly understand why others enjoy the event, but I'd like the option to continue avoiding PvP without having to simultaneously avoid PvE areas of the world for fear of contagion. (This evening, even the flight master at Marshal's Refuge was infected. Fortunately, I was trying to fly out, not in, and was thus able to avoid contagion by riding to Silithus rather than flying. But even as remote an area as Un'Goro Crater was affected.)

Also, you'd likely not have had such a problem were this event not occurring just after the release of shiny new achievements, and in the midst of a short-term holiday event - something to consider in future.

Q u o t e:

Actually, you may recall that during the events leading up to the Burning Crusade, that there was a certain large and nasty entity named Highlord Kruul afoot in the realms.

He would invade zones and major cities on a quest for destruction in the name of the Burning Legion.

This...I wouldn't mind. It's one thing to be attacked by an uncaring, cold, brutal computer, but sitting there as everything goes amok, knowing that there is someone at the other side of your screen, maybe laughing nastily at you, maybe hoping you'll have fun too.....that's the hard part for me to deal with. I *know* a computer doesn't give a rats butt about anything. It does exactly as it's told. Players on the other hand....

I seem to recall something from long ago on UO that involved a spawning undead plague that players were supposed to kill, but the monsters weren't, so the undead ended up plaguing the world for a while, until enough were killed off to end the event (the players were supposed to kill them far earlier, instead of letting the town being attacked get totally ransacked). But again, it's a computer opponent.

I've dealt with Ally players wanting to fight me, Horde chars wanting to duel me (usually when I'm up to something or outclassed.), which I don't mind provided it's not required....but forcing anyone to fight lvl 70 players...it's more fun for the 70s, as they can compare. I keep seeing "getting chewed on" and turning undead. What about the "ohko" for everyone not 70? My main is 39, and if I'm lucky, incredibly lucky, I might, maybe take 2 hits. Still, not fun.

I'm not able to be precisely specific, but I am able to say that the plague should be measured in days, not weeks.

Q u o t e:

Sure this event will end, but the plague is designed to spread. It doesn't take much to realize that you can log off with an infected alt and log on 6 months later to restart the plague. Unless, of course, Blizzard removes the debuff from everyone at the end of the event. Otherwise the zombie invasion becomes a permanent fixture of wow like other holiday items people store on alts.

Fortunately, this was taken into consideration, and the plague should not persist beyond its planned duration.

And I thought the "throwing pumpkins" and the "turn you into a skeleton" stuff was silly, but at least it was harmless. At least you could still play.

I'm not asking for them to say "17 hours 3 minutes and 47 seconds"
I know they won't say when... All I'm asking for is ballpark.

A few days? A few weeks? what? Just something!

That's pretty harsh. While I'm sure there's a ton of griefers, there's some people who are really enjoying trying to find hidden zombie content and the like.

Q u o t e:

I think the devs merely underestimated the proportion of their user base who are jerks. Several of my friends were having a ball with this not trying to grief other players.

Really? I have been assuming that there's a thing-to-find which, when found, becomes part of the advancement of the event. You know, like the AQ gates; someone figures it out and does it, and then the server moves on or something. But I could be reading too much into it. :)

Q u o t e:

As I stated in another post, the plague is expected to be measured in days, rather than weeks. I realize that isn't terribly specific, but I'm providing the most accurate information that I'm able to.

I really do hope that those of you that are having issues with the event are able to fully accomplish your goals, and though I've said it before, I am genuinely sorry for any short term inconveniences.

whether you "hope" or not, this event has severely hampered my ability to play. I log in and am transformed into a zombie within seconds, with no recourse but to stand there and let the townsfolk kill me. On other days there used to be like a 9 minute timer, but now its immediate. Thsi event sucks, it really does. It's also an extremely negative introduction for the expansion. I'm not sure if that what you were after but hey it's where we stand now.

The only people that have said "hey this is such a cool event" are the kids that I know are younger than 15, and they aren't the ones paying for the accounts. So as far as I've seen, the paying subscribers are really turned off by this entire thing.

Thsi whole forced pvp thing is the pits to someone who truly used to enjoy the game. Please make it end soon.

A month can be counted as a group of days without ever mention how many weeks it is. Saying a matter of days not weeks could mean 7 days, 14 days, or 21 days.

Now if they said it would end before Hallow's End then that would be an answer but saying it will end in a few days means nothing!

That's interesting, you know what would be cool... if you had to zombie then run to the new part of tyrs hand where the DK starting area is and infect arthas who is commanding his troops on the ground to build a base.

He did say "Days not Weeks", so I hope that means less than a week.

Have you even logged off with it now ?
If you had you would know it goes away as I have already tired :P

I have the 10 minute infection on 3 alts right now. I checked one of them the next day, it was still there.

It means what they are saying it means. It will be less then a week. And considering the timing, all indicators point towards it being a weekend event. Cities will probably be a wasteland by sunday, with uncleanseable and nigh instant turning zombies. Then the final part of the event will happen that fixes the cities for now.
