I am not sure if this coincides with the last Apple patch or not, but it seemed to for me.

Since this past saturday, when I play WoW in fullscreen mode and zoom in/out with the mouse wheel, the mouse pointer gets re-positioned to the upper left hand corner of the screen, instead of just staying in its current position.

This does not happen if I play in windowed mode. The mouse pointer stays in its current position upon zooming, like is normal.

I suppose I could have adjusted some setting this past week which causes this. Would anyone have any advice or maybe have the same issue?

In the overall sense, the issue is minor, but is still annoying nonetheless.

TIA.

Hello Kohna,

Are you using the Apple Mighty Mouse or some other one ?

Let me know how I'm doing...

Hello, and thanks for a reply.

I use a Logitech G5 gaming mouse, plugged into a USB slot.

This behavior was shown before the patch on tuesday (this past weekend) so I do not think it is WoW patch related.

Additionally, I have used this mouse for a year now with no issues.

I can duplicate this issue as well, using a Logitech G5 on my intel iMac running 10.5.5

I noticed it during the PTR as well. Game works find if you window/maximize, but if you go to full screen - mouse pointer flips up to the upper left once you touch the scroll wheel.

This problem stems from the Logitech software. I have this problem too. There was a while when it didn't do this, but I reloaded some stuff recently and it started again. About the only solution I've found to this was to use third party mouse software such as SteerMouse.

Rado --

You should make a sticky post about Logitech Mouses (mice?) not behaving in full screen mode.

This has gotta be like the 6th post I've read this week about it.

Thank you for the replies.

I loaded the SteerMouse software/driver, and all seems to be working well in terms of in-game zooming using the wheel.

To solve this issue...

I run the following settings:

In the "Video" settings, I check the Box "Windowed Mode" and then ALSO check the Box "Maximized" . This will have your mouse operate normally in both Windowed and Full-Screen Mode.

Only difference in this is that you don't get to use the Gamma slide bar, which doesn't matter to me since I use Desktop Gamma anyway.
