0. Mounts and Vanity Pets - Please Read 10/14/2008 05:33:42 PM PDT

Greetings all —

We are fully aware of the situation regarding a number of players not seeing their newly learned Mount and Vanity Pet “spells” and are currently monitoring the issue. This appears to simply be a display issue and it is likely that it will resolve itself in a matter of hours; please be prepared for realm restarts to address any possible issues.

We ask that you wait approximately 24 hours to see if the issue corrects itself before submitting an in-game petition regarding the matter. If after that time you are still unable to use your mount or vanity pet, please submit a petition and our staff will investigate the issue for you.

Updates regarding the matter will be provided as necessary.

I really hope so because only a few of my mounts/pets are showing up. My loot card ones are not and that worrys me.

Thank you for this update.

I logged in today, added all my pets and mounts and had to relog. When I got back they were all gone, including the pet tab. I found I could re-learn my collector's edition pets and that made the tab come back, but all the pets and mounts were gone.

I just logged back in at 10:15 EST, and the problem is still persisting.

Edit: My achievements still show that I've added 13 pets, and 1 mount (although it should say 4).

Oh I am so happy to see this, I was about to commit seppuku when I saw that all of my hard-earned mounts and pets were gone, I'm talking losing my loot cards pets, all my drakes, Mr. Pinchy.

if it's just a simple case of a ui error (which i hope it is) then why is it when i went to the stablemaster she let me relearn my quest pets? and they all magically showed up. this doesn't sound like a display error to me if blizz quest pet recovery system is not registering the lost pets in the pet spell tab and let me relearn them.

I will be PIST beyond belief if I can't get my pets back.
I had so many rare pets that are all gone now.

Is there any word on if using a slash command like /cast reins of the swift stormsaber would work? not having a land mount is is going to suck, and I doubt if we buy a new one we that we'd get refunds later...

This is the toon missing its mount, if it matters...

I have this issue as well. I had learned all 12 of my pets and my 4 mounts. When the server reset, I checked my pets tab, and only 5 are there now. All of my mounts are gone, and the tab is gone as well.

Also, my achievements interface shows 5 pets and 0 mounts.

My concern is that when I learned them all the 1st time I earned the stable keeper achievement. After getting the boot and logging back in several mounts were back in my bags. After relearning the ones in my bags again I attempted to mount up on my drake and discovered it along with my Ram were missing. I was told this is graphical, however my achievement log only shows that I have 9 mounts learned, so graphical or not, I'm clearly missing a mount. Others on my server have lost many more mounts and pets than myself. I am wondering if there could be chance of a rollback simply to ensure that things have not been lost for good.

Wait,.... what...

wait for it to fix itself? Isn't that the whole point of testing a patch? to make sure it freaking works when it's put on the real server? Color me silly for thinking that.

how about actually fixing it, saying it's a known problem and being worked on or something other than 'wait 24 hours and it shouldf fix itself'

Also, how about putting Thunderhorn online and having it be able to even let people log in... "all realms are now online" yea, whatever

i would LOVE to test if a slash command works but that issue because i have no mounts and it blows but the "fixed" with us getting stuck on the loading screen. sooo not fixed.

I had learned 49 mounts, got the achievement for 25 mounts etc, and now I have 3 mounts in my mount tab, and the 50 mount achievement claims I have 10 mounts learned. Doesn't seem like a "display" error.

I'm missing my swift brown wolf and veridian netherwing drake. I learned them during a period of strange lag where there were no NPC's. I got disconnected in Hellfire by the dark portal...relogged to find myself in the Scryer inn as if I had never moved, my talent points reset again, and no mounts. My pets that I had learned were back in my bags, and I could learn them again...but my mounts are nowhere to be found. Ah well, it's bedime now, and I have to work tomorrow, so by the time I get home 24 hours should've passed since they vanished.
