The item team is looking over the mage set again to verify whether it came in under its stat budget. Any changes that would be made, however, wouldn’t be ready or implemented by the time the patch is released and the items are made available. We can’t of course guarantee that changes will be made, but if the set turns out to have fewer stat points than intended we’ll get it fixed as soon as possible.

Seriously something needs to change with mage S2 stats. Compare our stat gains from s1 -> s2 and compare those of priests and warlocks. It's absolutely rediculous how little we gain (don't say armor, priests and warlocks got the same increase).
As it stands, you're better off skipping s2 gear and saving your points for s1 and a weapon.

I have compared the priest helm to the mage helm, here is the stat comparison:
mage: season two helm from season 1 helm difference:
Priest: season two helm from season 1 helm difference:
armor: +227
int: -4
stam: +6
damage:+4
resilience:+2
crit:+0
As you can see, you are a moron who spouts information he knows nothing about.
same armor increase....we got less int, you got less stam... we got 1 more resilience, you got 2 crit....so where is this grand imbalance between the mage set and the priest set you speak of...you yourself called out for a comparison and here it is you whining 12 year-old.
Again where is this grand diference between our set and yours from this season to last?
There isn't one. That's not what this post is about. This is not a QQ OMG BUFF our S2 post. This post is a request to Drysc/Bliz to give us a definitive update as to how they are changing out gear, beit a buff, nerf, or stasis. Many mages like myself need some finality as to which set will be a better investment. In my case, I can finish 4/5 S1, or buy 3 pieces of S2, I don't want to do either until I know how the points are best spent. If mages buy the former and they buff the latter, we'll be SOL without being able to make an educated decision on how to spend points we've saved for MONTHS.
Are we clear on that?

I personally have concern that warlock destro set has more of every stat than mage set... Earlier, mages had more crit and locks had more sta + dmg. Now, locks got more of everything. Not that I'm greedy, but how are mages to counter that?! IMHO Warlock is already the strongest class in game, so what do they need best gear for?
