Q u o t e: every arena point calculator i've visited says i shoudl have gotten 1600+ points for 2314 rating in 5v5. i only got around 1300 for this week. was the 5v5 rating to arena point conversion changed? are the points updating improperly?
the same thing happened to another character of mine on a 5v5 team at around 2300 rating. it only got 1300 points, and every calculator i visit says i should have gotten 1600.

I got jacked over 600 points, and now I won't hit the cap before season 2.
This better not be another dumbass stealth nurf by blizzard to screw people out of points or im quitting. I can go wait for warhammer playing something else.

Arena point gain is intentionally different, and this is in-fact not a bug. A typical team will see a small change in their points, but players with very high or very low ratings will see a much larger change. Below is the new formula.
If rating<=1500 then
Points=0.38*rating-194
(note: this calculation can go negative, but will be floored at 0)
If rating>1500 then
Points=1426.79/(1+918.836*Power(2.71828, -0.00386405*rating))

Thanks for the heads up. Oh wait . . .
edit: Honestly though, thanks for coming on here to confirm our suspicions at least. I can't help but wonder why the info wasn't authorized before the update however. Players tend to plan their purchases based on these conversions.

well it's nice to see WoW is doing its best to appeal to mediocrity as has been the trend since the release of this game.
ps. by the way, you might want to define typical team for me and others. a large portion of the players in these threads i've been reading are missing out on 200-400 points this week. that's a pretty large difference if it's not a coincidence that "very high rated" players are posting in this thread.
whatever. tell your bosses to give us a heads up next time. no one had a clue this was happening. you do realize your customers plan ahead with their points? you guys might want to do some similar planning with the information you give us. you DID have 4 months to release this patch.
